Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City delivers a true third person team based shooter experience set within the dark and sinister Resident Evil universe and a reinterpretation of the events depicted in Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. The setting of the Resident Evil universe not only provides a rich backdrop to the action but delivers a unique and thrilling triple threat battle. Zombies and Bio-Organic Weapons (B.O.W's) add to the mix as players not only compete against an opposing squad but also tackle this third unpredictable element, creating a brand new style of gameplay and breaking the conventions of traditional team based shooters.

It is September 1998 and the action centres once more on the ill-fated Raccoon City and the horrific consequences of the deadly T-virus outbreak from the Umbrella facility. With a cover up required, Umbrella orders an elite team into Raccoon City to destroy all evidence of the outbreak and eliminate any survivors. Hearing of this plan, the US Government dispatches its own special forces to uncover any evidence that exposes the cause of the viral infection and Umbrella's actions. Players take on the role of an Umbrella Security Services soldier (U.S.S.), competing alone or in four player co-op in a battle against all the competing forces at play in Raccoon City.

Expect the return of original Resident Evil enemies, iconic landmarks such as the Raccoon City Police Department and fan favourite characters, including Leon S. Kennedy, who as a rookie police officer in Raccoon City is on your hit list to eliminate. Players will experience a retelling of classic moments from past titles Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 and watch the events unfolding from the menacing perspective of the Umbrella Security Service, giving fans the chance to rewrite the history of the Raccoon City outbreak.

In addition, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City will deliver a number of competitive online multiplayer modes. Each one of these will provide a unique gaming experience thanks to the three way combat between the Umbrella Security Service, US Special Ops and threat of zombies and B.O.W's that could only exist in the deadly and twisted Resident Evil Universe.
  • Suitable for 18 years and over. Not for sale to persons under age 18. By purchasing this product, you declare that you are 18 years of age and over.

  • Team based shooter set in the dark and sinister Resident Evil universe
  • Triple threat battle as zombies and B.O.W.s add to the action
  • Compete with up to three friends as an Umbrella Security Service squad member in campaign mode
  • Choose from six U.S.S. characters, each with their own unique skill set and roles
  • Return of favourite Resident Evil enemies, iconic landmarks and characters, such as Leon S. Kennedy
  • Rewrite the history of the Raccoon City outbreak. Relive the iconic crash scene from Resident Evil 2 as Leon S. Kennedy desperately tries to escape from the clutches of the Umbrella Security Services
  • Risk infection from the hordes of zombies making their way through the city
  • Competitive online multiplayer modes provide a unique gaming experience thanks to the three corner combat between the Umbrella Security Service, US Special Ops and threat of zombies and B.O.W.s

Firstly, many people are comparing this game to the previous Resident evil games BUT DON'T!

This game is unique on its own and has things which other games dont have.

Campaign = Yes its not long but full of bosses and you can play Co-Op and i like how the EXP in single player is tied with multiplayer to buy guns.

Multiplayer = This is amazing! its team vs team vs zombies vs bosses and you're not just having to look around for the other team as there are threats on the map also. The game modes are brilliant and bring something new to xbox suck as survivors and nemesis.

Good Points = I love this game and i think the campaign is full of good battles and customization is good along with the multiplayer aspect of things.

Bad Points = More Call of duty noobs are joining the game and some weapons are alightly OP such as the MOB Special and the Super soldier ability is annoying. the knife attacks are also OP as if you get hit theres no way in escaping which is why going in groups is key.

Overall i believe the good points outweigh the bad points in some cases and to say CAPCOM are bringing out a new campaign for the SPEC OPS missions it wil make the game alot longer.

So, do not compare this game to other Resident Evil games, if anythign compare it to gears of war 3 and also the game is a "15" not a Pegi 18 haha.

If people are rating this game 1-3 stars they're either bad at the game or comparing it to other resident evil games which they shouldnt do.

 Different But Good Game

As a big Resident Evil fan i think this game is rather good. At first i thought what the hell have i bought?????? but after an hour or so when i got into the game i thought it was rather good. Don't get me wrong its a lot different to older Resident Evil titles, its more action based and less puzzle solving like the older titles. I'am on mission 5 and enjoyed every min of it so far. Don't listen to all the idiots giving it bad reviews, these are just general gamers and not true Resident Evil fans. 4 out of 5 for me, would like to see a bit more puzzles in there.

 Not bad

I've played all the resident evil series. This tries to do something different. Set in the late 90's during resident evil two, you play as some of umbrella corporation's special forces. Generally going about doing evil stuff for the company. Unless you're using live and have people to play with i'd stay away from this title. It's really made for co-op play, as the AI is pretty terrible. Specially when there's enviroment hazards your ai team mebers have no issue with walking through or standing in.

 My god this is bad

This game is a shining example of games being rushed...in fact no its not. This game was doomed to failure from the start, the story is loose, the controls are shoddy, the AI is a joke, and the camera angles constantly point away from the action during the times when the game is trying to build tension. All in all this is a dreadful game and is an absolute disgrace to the resident evil series which has brought us some absolutely cracking games. This, i am sorry to say, had no chance of being one of them.

 Such A Letdown

I had been looking forward to this game ever since i heard of it being in production. Then it arrived.... it seems like they have pretty much made some mediocre game and slapped a Capcom/Resident Evil sticker on the front of it. The cover system is shockingly bad and the lack of ammo is idiotic. This game could of had so much potential if they had actually sat down and concentrated on the simplest of things. Online play seems to be a bit better than single player but still has major flaws. Wait for it to be in the sin bin before wasting 40 quid like i did.
