This game really does set the boundaries for a multi-player / co-op shooter. After LOVING the first one I picked this one up and was not disappointed. The world is varied and textured cartooney like the last which is great and works really well for the game. The graphics are very bright and colourful and all of the guns are shiny and have multiple colours.
You can play solo or team up with 4 other people (which I recommend as its alot more fun) and do missions throughout pandora trying to stop handsome jack from awakening the warrior to destroy everything he wants. The variety of guns is endless and the replay factor is amongst the best of any game as there are just so many items and quests and different enemies to kill on this game.
This isn't the type of game you can just complete in around 10 hours it takes ages which is a good thing and there is plenty of DLC to go with it. There are many challenging bosses you can kill and then farm over and over for a chance to get rare weapons and show off to your friends. You can play as 4 different classes (5 with a pre-order edition) each with their special fighting ability and you can customise your characters appearance in many ways.
The game itself it very witty and funny and the in game levelling up system and menus are very fun and simple. You have a max level of 50 (at the moment before DLC) each level you get a skillpoint to put on a certain skill that improves something about your character like in number 1. But on this you have a Badass rank, every time you do a certain thing such as kill an enemy a certain way or find things, you get tokens to spend such as 0.7 percent more health or damage. These stack alot and account for each of your characters in total so is very useful in the long run.
If your a fan of shooters and want to play with friends (and don't mind not realistic graphics) then this game is for you. Borderlands 1 won game of the year and I'm sure this will too as it's that fun. Well worth your money.
On the surface not much seems to have changed since the original Borderlands. Play this sequel for any length of time however and it soon proves itself to be a superior game. Both the story and script are just that bit sharper and often genuinely funny, the skill system has been expanded (Including a new 'badass rank' which rewards the player with boosts to their stats for completing certain challenges) and there are fewer missions that are nothing but glorified fetch quests.
All this and a host of other minor tweaks meant that, while I bored of the first title before seeing it to the end, there was never any danger of me stopping before I saw Borderlands 2 through to its finale. This is co-op gaming at it's very best.

I played the first game and actually enjoyed it a lot despite it being a little repetitive. When I heard they were making a Borderlands 2 I was hoping they would have improved on the original. Unfortunately (in my opinion) they have missed the mark. The game involves nothing more than running around shooting endlessly spawning enemies. The vehicles and vehicle spawning system is exactly the same as the first game - so nil points for imagination there. The game is without a doubt the most depressingly boring, repetitive game I have played for a long time. Graphics are nice but that's really about it.
I love this game, so many small improvements from the first game, and the story follows up really good. You meet a lot of the good old Borderlands characters again, and the game is still hilarious!
Love the new system where you automatically pick up money and ammo when you walk or drive over it. Looove being able to change skin and head of your character and find new skins even for the cars. The game also have so many references to countless movies and games and what not, just take the little minecraft easteregg with blocks you have to melee and actual creepers!!!
Most of all I love the scene of humor they use in this game, from introductions of characters to when you killing an enemy and he is screaming out and stuff like that. Just make this game really enjoyable.
I must say I think it is on my top 3 list of games, between Fallout 3 and Assassins Creed 2:)
