 Best F1 yet from Codemasters

Having played both the previous Codemasters F1 games 2010 and 2011, I was not so sure this years offering was going to offer enough of an improvement to justify purchase. Thankfully it does if you are a dedicated racer.
It is more accessible with the difficulty balance much improved, not just for the hardcore but also the standard pad player. I have never been able to drive really confidently with traction control off in the championship, but in 2012, you can. Somehow the controls are more responsive and feedback through the car is better giving you more confidence to push, without making the experience easy.
Of course you can still customise the game to suit your play style and experience.
Presentation is very slick, as we have become accustom with Codemasters, and the visuals have been suitably improved, the weather effects looking very nice.
The better you do in the young driver section at the start, gives you access to to a higher placed team, so its worth pushing, as it does not look like you will be able to win with the lower placed teams, which adds to the realism.
All in all I'm very happy after my first impressions, the game is much tighter, which I feel will make the game more enjoyable over the coming months.
If you are an F1 fan, now is the time to take the plunge and give the game a go, Codemasters have delivered.

 a real racing game

10/10 the graphics are impressively improved from the previous game, and it is amazing as you would guess, a word of warning, it's turning into a proper racing game, you need to be carefull with your throttle on all racing settings, but once you get used to it not being an arcade style racing game you'll love it more after every corner

 slightly disappointed

the game itself is pretty good. the gameplay is epic as were the previous years. its harder this year with throttle control being vital.
for some reason they have pretty much ruined split screen mutiplayer, you cant even do a split screen championchip you can only do one race at a day? its bad enough you have to pay 40 pounds for a game these days but now you have to get 2 copies and an EA code before you can play the game with a friend. completely let down by this aspect of the game. the game itself is good but i wont buy it becuase of the poor mutiplayer.

 Bad!

This game is really poor. I couldn't get passed the 1st race even though I kept restarting it. The reason it's so bad is to be competitive you have to be on it big time, if you don't start every race in pole you will of course be amongst other cars, it all sounds like fun racing but if you so much as touch 1 of these cars (which is impossible not to do), will will spin off or be giving a time penalty or both for dangerous driving which is weird because your hitting speeds of up to 200mph, which is of course is dangerous?!!! If you somehow manage to stick it on pole every race then your either from planet Zion where all beings are faultless in everything they do or your cheating. I bought this game because I'm a big F1 fan and enjoy watching them all but this game is just too finely tuned, there's just no room for error, it's far too stressful for me and not worth me smashing my controller...
