Best bit of kit you can buy for the arcade or 20GB editions

I went out and bought this a few months after I bought my 360 when out looking for an external fan for it and I must say its the best bit of kit i've bought for it. The functions on the back are a little confusing to begin with but it becomes really simple after a few minutes. The monitor port on the back means you can just plug in your computer monitor to it and play on that and with the other ports it means you can connect your 5.1 or whatever else you put audio though directly to your 360. The fan itself isnt loud at all and the cooling qualities are superb, have had my 360 for 21 months and the fan for about 19 and not once has it over heated. In my oppinion, this is by far better than any other external fan you can buy for the arcade or 20GB versions of the 360.
king of coolers

both mine and my sons 360's have had these on since new (15 months or so) has given us both great service. those that cant get it working properly have no idea what they are doing, those that bought one for their hdmi xbox should have read what they was buying first!,, 1080p no problem.. multi channel sound (dolby D or dts) no problem. EVERYTHING but hdmi is there and functional.
i really wish people would give factual reviews instead of miss informed bad reviews because of their own mistakes or lack of knowledge of A the equipment the own ann B the equipment they are about to buy....
would buy again.. 10 out of 10

The same as the other reviews, it doesn't fit and doesn't cool the xbox down much. I'm not a person who is defeated easily, I unscrewed the whole thing and did some assembling of my own. DON'T BUY IT.
waste of money

i just ot a 360 arcade console but also ordered this. i failed to relise it didnt support a hdmi port .
it doesnt fit looking around at the other fan Nyko Intercooler 360 and people say it breaks your 360 well no thakyou even if it does support hdmi port.
im pretty stuck now becuase i need a fan which will fit my 360 but not break the thing.maybe they need to make the description of these things better.

i bought this peice of equipment because my xbox 360 was always overheating, the day i recieved it i plugged it in and "nothing" the cooler did nothing, it only sent the picture and sound to the tv. my xbox 360 has broken three times because of it overheating and getting 3 red lights i just wanted something to stop that happening.
very disapointed !!
Good, if you want to buy the whole gamexpert set

Right, my cooler arrived today i didn't have any problems (I thin the people with connectivity problems must be trying to plug it into an xbox elite, because it is not designed to fit that the connectivity is different) I plugged it all in and got onto live, but unfortunately i had no sound as my official cables will not work with this. However i nicked a double-ended VGA cable and put it on, the picture quality is very good and i cannot see a difference between the official and just running my random VGA cable. My problem is with the sound I am going to need to buy some dual ended sound cables which I'm having trouble getting hold of but i assume i will be able to buy some Gamexpert ones.
So what I'm trying to say is that this cooler is good and does what it says but the 'extended connectivity' is a bit of a double edged thing because of all the new cables you have to buy so only a four star rating from me. Also please consider that i have not had the cooler long so i can't comment on the people saying about the short lifespan of this cooler.
Much love,
Shoto Koto.
does not fit

I have had the cooler for about a year now and has cooled my Xbox 360 down for the first 6-7. However after that it began to heat up again, just slightly, then I started smelling burning (like an iron left on). Finally for christmas I got a HDTV so I could play the 360 in Hi de-oh wait! The cooler doesn't support the official (or third party) cables! So not only do I have a defective cooler, I also have to buy new double-ended cables.
If you're thinking "I could handle buying new cables", don't bother because apparently the display either doesn't show or has a pink tinge to it, if your Xbox is getting a little hot under the collar then put it horizontally. I did that and removed the cooler, now my 360 runs cooler than every before!
This does not buy for all circumstances, if you desperately need a cooler then get one running off its own power supply and not USB or the 360's power supply or splits the connector to connections you will not use; The Official Xbox Magazine gave it a 5/5!
Bottom line: Don't bother. Get a Pelican Cooler.
