This game is absolutley superb!!! I decided to treat myself for once and had always fancied one of the Guitar Hero games and was tempted to go for 3, before reading up - am so glad I did this is by far and away the most addictive game I have played!!! I've only had it a couple of hours and I can't put it down, no matter how bad I am at a particular song, I have to nail it before I can do anything else......if my missus can do it then anyone can, just shows you how easy it is to get into playing it!!!!

why bother with guitar hero 3 three resons not to
1) the guitar is better
2)you dont have to be 43 to know the songs
3)its cheaper
the list could be longer but they are thew most important

I thought I would treat myself to a new game for my Xbox 360. After much deliberation, I thought I would try Guitar Hero II and see what all the fuss was about. My oh my I'm glad I made the choice I did!! It is a superb game, with hours of playablility, plenty of unlockables and you get to rock out on a guitar! Graphically, it may not be exactly impressive, but to be honest, you will be spending most of your time concentrating on hitting those notes :P Overall, amazing game, highly innovative, easy to learn yet lots of challenges to keep you going! A must buy!

Now, I'm no jimi Hendrix, I cant even play 3 blind mice. Having played this game I feel like I could play Monkey wrench by the foo's. People who do play the guitar seem to have an instant rapport with finding their way around the guitar but for an absolute novice, like me, you can crawl... walk... and eventually run. I put a song on expert when I first started and laughed at how fast it went but after playing it more and more you get to develope and understand the quality of guitar solo's and how artistic playing a guitar can be. Songs are great, the classics you hear and the ones you dont know you seem to get right into. Lots and lots of hours worth of playing involved. A Must Buy!!!

Out of the dozens of games I own, only two keep me coming back for more. GuildWars on the PC and GH2 on the xbox360. I have even downloaded and bought new songs for this game.

While this game can get frustrating on harder settings, it is alot of run! The controller is worth it alone, to feel a real-ish guitar in your hands.

If you are contemplating either GH2 or GH3, keep in mind that the new third one is alot harder. I tried the demo and it has a steeper learning curve.

You will be able to jump into GH2 alot easier then GH3! I would recommend trying the second game before the third one.

You wont regret and well worth the money a wonderful controller and hours of gameplay.... once you get this you cant put it down!!!

I played this game first at Camp America, and i was horrible at it, normally you get frustrated if you are as bad as i was, but i continually found myself having more and more fun. When i got home i bought Guitar Hero 2 and it easily the most playable game ever, and it is so much fun. The songs are fantastic, so all i can say is, get guitar hero 2 or wait for 3 :D Rock On !!!!!!!!!!

This is the perfect game to rock out to on any console! This combines the gameplay of past Guitar Hero games from the PS2, and adds HD graphics to it, and adds even more songs!

There are a lot of pack to download off the marketplace. Initially, I thought that the packs were a rip-off at 500MSP each for 3 songs. Acutally, you are getting your moneys worth. The makers are putting a lot of time and effort into these packs, especially the brand new ones, such as the My Chemical Romance Pack, and the Indie Labels Pack. In the end, you definately get your moneys worth. I've already bought 3 of the packs.

Is this the best game on the Xbox 360? I think so. Will the sequel be better? I don't think so, to be honest. I like the idea of guitar battles, but I don't like some of the songs in the game and the new Les Paul guitar. It looks ugly and plastic, which is what we want to avoid. I'm getting the game on its own still. I'll just stick with the X-Plorer. It's an amazing piece of kit. The only downside is that the whammy bar isn't perfect on every model, and some models, like mine, have an ethernet port to plug in what the makers say is an effects pedal. We haven't seen anything. The pedals for the Xbox 360 Wireless Steering Wheel plugs into the port, but that's about it, and it doesn't do anything, sadly.

Anyway, long story short, this is the best game on the 360 until Rock Band comes out. Get it as cheap as you can, so you can save some money and get the downloadable packs, because, trust me, they will make the game even better. I recommend getting Song Pack 1, the My Chemical Romance Pack, and the Indie Labels Pack, for now.

This is one of the best games on the 360.

I'm pretty sure everyone knows the status that comes with the name GHII, and if you don't, where have you been?

This is just like the PS version but better in every way. Here is a few extra features with the 360 version:
Leaderboards, DLC, HD graphics, extra songs and obviously the gamerpoints just to name a few.

For those who haven't played GHII before and have a 360 you NEED to get this. It is excellent fun. No previous guitar knowlege is nneeded. There is tutorials, practice and multiplayer modes you help you.

I would not recommend this game to anyone who doesn't like this kind of music though and those with no patience as after you are at a medium level you will have to start putting in more practice. But even that is great fun rather than a chore.
