A very good sequel to a very good game. I love this game, this delivered everything that was good in the first one and more. The improved fighting system in the game is so well done and it has more scary moments as well which is a plus in my book, since horror is my thing. So it's a must have from me.

i got both the condemned games, i prefered the sequel due to its superior fighting controls. The first has the better and original story but I got bored sooner with that. I finished the first game twice just to get the two endings you can choose from, I wont be playing it again.
The second has a ridiculous story that made no sense but i enjoyed killing gangs of wierdos none the less. Im a sucker for the survival horror games and wasnt disappointed with either, both are way above alone in the dark for quality and you could get both for less than AITD.

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars Condemned for scares, Condemned 2 for action...

The original game was amazing in how it maintaned a creepy and un-nerving atmospohere from start to finish. It messed with your head like not many other games can. Condemned 2 doesn't really manage that, it is still quite scary, but the atmosphere feels like it's only half there. The developers seemed to have gone for the easier 'monster jumps out from behind a wall' option which the first one didn't really have to use. But, they have turned the action up to 11, the combat is more in-depth and there are more weapons, environmental kills (similar to the hotspots in WWE SD vs. Raw), and button presses to reply to people (quick time presses like Shnemue, RE4 e.t.c.). There is one great set piece in the game that sticks out to me, it is unexpected and brilliantly done, wont spoil it. The game has online multiplayer, but it's not very good so you will only try it a couple of times. Overall i'd say it's slightly worse than the original, but it's clear the developers wanted to make a different, more action orientated game, so i say get both. The original is dirt cheap now and still good to play and terrifying at times. I give this game 8 out of 10

This game easily has some of the best melee gameplay, satisfying, brutal and often gives you a sense of achievement when you kill a particularly hard enemy.
By terms of gameplay, this game gets a 5, very violent, very gritty and very disturbing.
While nowhere near as scary as the first Condemned, it is pretty scary, but fails to capture that same dread filled atmosphere that Condemned 1 had, especially near the end.
So if you are looking for a horror game, this may not be your best bet.
The story is pretty good to start off with, carrying on from where Condemned 1 left off, but by the end (for me anyway) it seemed to take it way to far into the supernatural. I think, for a game franchise where you work essentially for a police, solving crimes etc it should have stayed in a more realistic setting.

I am in no way saying this is a bad game, as the gameplay more than makes up for its verging on ridiculous story.
I've completed it on Normal, Hard and just completed it on the FPS setting - which was a nice addition.
In FPS, as the name says, you play the game like a traditional FPS, using guns rather than melee weapons. You can still use melee, but you're better off using guns. Fun, and makes you play the game almost totally differently to how you would in the normal settings.
Like the first Condemned, this game has a high replay value, so you are definately getting your moneys worth.
If you are not someone that cares about storylines in a game, then this is definately for you.
Even if you do care about storylines, this game is probably still for you because the gameplay is just that awesome.
So don't be ashamed, buy it and fulfill your brutal bloodlust.

Condemned 2 is a great game. Playing on your own in the dark at night it does have the scare factor but in the day it is still a great game to play.
The graphics are good, great looks of characters and enviroment.
I love the controls and how you beat down the angry bums.
Altogether a awesome game.

this is a great fps its dark, gritty and addictive, it is a big improvement on the first outing which was good in its own right. even though it can be frustrating being jumped out at in the dark it does deliver! the story is good and the action fantastic. this time around there are lots of extra features such as receiving upgrades based on your level performance and enchanced ai overall it is a game worth buying lets hope they make a third installment!

first of like some others have said its to dark and the light doesnt really help, your health goes down pretty easy when fighting an enemy and somethings there are a few so its nearly impossible and the blocking system is rubbish you have to press it just as they are about to hit you so when there are a few enemys is hard to block all there punchers and get your own in before another swings
basically dont buy it or just rent (i swapped mine 3 days after buying and i didnt even finish the game)

Customer rating: 2 out of 5 stars Disappointing

A really disappointing game that promised so much. It does build up a great oppressive atmosphere with good visuals and sound. But unfortunately it doesn't play particularly well.

The first person action makes unarmed combat extremely difficult and the combinations are hard to master and its nearly impossible to dodge enemy blows.

The forensic examinations are a neat gimick but it doesn't seem to matter if you get the information wrong, nor does it seem to have any bearing in the plot, as you are rail-roaded to the next plot point.

The story is quite interesting but the game is so dark its often difficult to see anything, particularly with doll factory level where you have to wear a gas mask, further diminshing your visibility.

A pretty disappointing game overall.

I really enjoyed the orginal of this game merely by the story to follow and the great jumpy bits. But this has taken it too far. OTT story, awful nightmare creatures, very short and the fighting combo combat. Worse of all about this game it is too dark. Most of the time when I play the game, I see nothing at all even though I put the brightness up high. So disappointed that makes me lose interest in the orginal. It has it moment, graphics are great (when we get to see something!), some jumpy bits and good acting from the main characters. Rent it anyway but don't buy it.
