I had both Spiderman 1 and 2 on previous consoles and really enjoyed playing them. However, this latest installment is not up to the same standards.
The dialogue gets repeated over and over again and tries to be funny. Unfortunately, it is the type of humour a six year old might not even like. For instance, he repeats 'Your tail blasts hurt, but at least they don't smell'!? After hearing this for the tenth time, I had to be incredibly controlled not to smash the disk.
The gameplay gets very repetitive and has far too many glitches. Some levels are much too difficult and in most cases resort to either button mashing or pressing the button that comes up on the screen. Often, the random things that happen leave you bemused and the coincidental happenings leave you critical.
The graphics are sometimes shown to be really nice, but too many times the nice graphics are immediately undermined by things like enemies getting stuck in walls or spidey going straight through a… more »

For me, this game was very disappointing and I am unsure of how the developers managed to release it. This seems like an early development of the game, and a shoddy one at that.

All those months ago before I had my 360 I played the PS2 version and enjoyed it, about a week later bought my 360 and bought this thinking it might be a bit different and said on the back there were 5 extra villains!! Once I read that I was convinced, This is by far the best spidey game I have ever played and I've played em all including back in the day on my Master System!! Graphics are absolutely gorgeous and swinging through new york is just a real treat!! The combat can be a bit fiddley and some bosses are quite tough but I managed to pretty much button bash my through and pulled off some very sweet moves in the process!! The game is pretty much grand theft Spidey, without the theft bit and there are loads of mini games(races etc) to keep you going between missions and the fact that you can seamlessly swing through new york and then without loading screens go into the subway system under new york was just brill(only a little thing I know but I really was amazed at that).
