Immerse yourself in the story-driven world of Project Sylpheed. Developed exclusively for Xbox 360 and produced by famed game publisher Square Enix (Final Fantasy), the colorful arcade-style space combat game will leave you breathless with its intense action and vivid graphics.

If the beautifully animated characters and environments don't catch your eye, piloting the fully weapon-customisable fighter ship through exhilarating battles with swarms of enemy ships and immense vessels will.

Immersive Storyline: Project Sylpheed features a deep storyline that revolves around the growth and maturation of the main character, Katana, who is torn from his friends as a result of political circumstances. Project Sylpheed has over 50 minutes of beautiful, engaging, dynamic and cinematic cut-scenes between intense battles, providing context to the intergalactic struggle linking good and evil.

Intense Intergalactic Space Combat: Pilot futuristic starfighters into swarms of enemies, strategically relying on your wingman and squadrons to successfully complete missions. Project Sylpheed challenges you to hold your own against enemy battleships and fortresses hundreds of times the size of your starfighter.

Customisable Starfighters: Utilise the killer technique system with 50 different customisable weapon combinations to equip your advanced Delta Saber starfighter. An arsenal of offensive and defensive techniques are available for you to map to your gameplay style, including the ability to fire all weapons at once or use slow motion to avoid enemy fire. If you're an experienced pilot, you can also learn to execute difficult technical maneuvers to evade adversaries, including 180-degree turns and strafing.

Evolving Next-Gen Gameplay: Based on the classic arcade side-shooter Silpheed, this next installment, Project Sylpheed, evolves the futuristic space combat gameplay into the next generation. Exclusively on Xbox 360, Project Sylpheed takes advantage of the processing power of the console to generate enormous maps and hundreds of enemy spaceships, all in beautiful 3D.

       A Cautious Buy

Be very wary when considering buying this. I bought this simply due to the fact that Square Enix worked on it, making the assumption it will be brilliant. Big mistake. I wasn't expecting anything majorly Final Fantasy obviously, but I was expecting a better quality game from the makers of a worldwide franchise. Graphics are fantastic and controls are very smooth and can easily be managed by the beginner player, right down to the truely skilled, but after about 3 missions, you begin to think "Does this game ever divert from its repetitive 'Shoot down fighters/Cutscene/Shoot down fighters/Cutscene/Shoot down a REALLY big fighter/End'?" The answer is no, and even though there are quite a few missions, you can't help but feel it could have been a lot more original.

Great game for an presently under supported genre

All I can say is if you liked Freespace, X-Wing/Tie fighter, Wing Commander, Starlancer etc you will like this. My only real gripe is the view as I prefer a cockpit view and wish MS would release a 360 version of the Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 to play it with.

Don't trust the demo... this game is amazing.

      Top 100 Electronics Reviewer

If your one of the few people that downloaded the demo (i did),
TRUST ME. the demo does not do this game justice at all.
I downloaded the demo and hated it with a passion, but then a friend lent it to me..........OMFG.. How opinions can change in an instant....
This has now gone from being one of the worst 360 games (demo version), to one of my fave games on the 360.
      Graphics are crisp and clear
      Sound is superb
      Gameplay is soooooo smooth
      Hardly any loading times
      Pretty decent storyline
Easy to use controls...what more can i add.....

      Oh yeah thats it....

BUY THIS GAME NOW, Don't trust the demo, You won't regret it..Promise

A criminally overlooked corker of a game

This game just seems to have slipped out with no fanfare of any kind, gaining little attention in the media or in shop displays. A crying shame, as it is a truly wonderful game, even if it almost insultingly short.

A space shooter in the style of classic Colony Wars, you play a space pilot fighting in an interstellar war with some truly astounding visuals and a wonderfully epic story of tragedy, war and friendship breaking up the action in lovely looking CG cinema sequences that feels more than a little like a rip off of anime like Gundam Seed and Macross Plus in places.

It can be a challenge to master the controls at first, and the HUD is far too cluttered, but once you get the hang of it, this is a great game.

It's been WAY too long since a space shooter as good as this has come out, and it shouldn't be passed up simply because it's too short, has no multiplayer, and the demo on Xbox Live is poorly chosen(There's no mission like THAT one in the actual game FYI).

You'll love this game if you like space shooters, but if you want something that'll last weeks, you should rent it first.

       Awesome

Best flying/space game on the xbox. Being able to track over 100 enemies at once in realtime 3d space combat is cool, coupled with good graphics and story, what more could you want
