Project Gotham Racing 4 (PGR 4) (Classics)

This is a brilliant game really good gameplay and fantastic graphics and it has bikes and you need bikes for some challenges and cars for others. 10/10

Right... enough's enough... it's time for the developers to throw away the old format and introduce some new ideas and concepts if they want to keep us gamers interested in the PGR series...
Keep the great cars and bikes but change the racing environment to a more next Gen realm...

Having found PGR3 a joy to play i found this a real let-down. From the needless inclusion of bikes (you hit them in a car and they go flying) to the ruining of the original kudos system, it seems the original formula which made PGR3 so good has been lost.

The graphics have been mildly improved, but new additions such as the bikes and weather system seem rushed and aren't particularly interesting (who wants to race hopelessly sliding about on ice?).

Gone has the arcade style with the cool garages - this has been replaced by a poorly produced career mode which is nothing but a chore to play (i found if you're losing a race you can just pause and restart it, this kind of removes the challenge). Half of the game is now down to driving bikes (which is painfully hard, mostly trying not to get knocked off - it's pretty obvious what happens when a car hits a bike! And unrealistic) - this does not interest me at all and is the worst failure of the game in my opinion.

So overall a sad death of a good franchise in my opinion, get PGR3 if you've not already, if you have enjoy it and don't get this!

This is a great game, the whole PGR serie is great and this one is by far the best. I love the new weather system, and the new look for the kudos, so in short a great racer!
The only flaw? There are only like 160 veicules, which are a mix of cars and bikes, which is great until, you compare it to FORZA 2, which has over 300!!!!

i really enjoyed the gotham series but this one blew me away with the weather effects. when it rains or snows it changes the way you drive around the track completely. it has an excellent career mode but is even better online. i would recommend this to anyone who likes racing games.

I love this game so much, I don't know what it is but there is something about the PGR series that always feels so right when you play.

A game all Xbox 360 owners should have who like their racing games!

PGR3 I found was far to arcadey, the carrer needed a seeing to as well!
But not they've got it right with using cars and bikes now, although the selection of cars can be a bit sketchy, online this game is great fun, but the the bulldog game can become a marathon if the fox doesn't have the right car/bike for the arena. Career mode is better now but, still could do improvements.

I was going to give this game a 4 star, but there is so much good about this game and only one bad thing. The in-car display is actually better than the outside view, and doesn't restrict your view as in other games. The range of cars, bikes and tracks is huge, and the weather conditions look realistic and affect your car/bike realistically. The online races are great fun, and different every time. The vehicles look incredible. The controls are simple to pick up and play. The only bad thing are the bikes. They swerve for no reason and flip repeatedly. Looks cool, but nothing else. But this game is amazing, even your gran would like it. I assume.

I felt unwelcome while playing this game which is an unusual choice of words but trying to play this game felt like a lot of work.
I could drive my own car better than the cars in this game, the whole path of realistic racing games reaks of Gran Turismo and they haven't really evolved past driveable cars.
There's nothing really wrong with the game in general but if you prefer arcade racing then I wouldn't buy this.

This is NOT a realistic game and it isn't meant to be!
It's old skool arcede racing at its finest, the graphics are great, there is a large selection of awesome cars (all of which feel diffrent) and plenty of tracks to chosse from.
There are just a few minor problems which keep it from getting 5* such as the incredibly slow matchmaking system and the inability to restart a career race if you lose.
