The Star Wars saga will continue in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, a videogame developed by LucasArts, which casts players as Darth Vader's "Secret Apprentice" and promises to unveil new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy. The expansive story, created under direction from George Lucas, is set during the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. In it, players will assist the iconic villain in his quest to rid the universe of Jedi - and face decisions that could change the course of their destiny.
  • During the period between Episodes III and IV, players hunt Jedi in the role of Darth Vader's Secret Apprentice.
  • Unleash and upgrade the Secret Apprentice's four core Force powers - Force push, grip, repulse and lightning - throughout the course of the game, and combine them for ultra-destructive, never-before-seen combos.
  • The Secret Apprentice won't just Force push enemies into walls - he'll Force push enemies through walls.
  • The Secret Apprentice won't just Force grip foes to throw them aside - he'll Force grip them in midair, zap them with lightning, then drop them to the ground to explode like a bomb.
  • In addition to new adversaries created just for the game, such as fugitive Jedi and Force-sensitive Felucians, players will also confront and associate with familiar faces from the Star Wars films, including Darth Vader.
  • Visit locations such as Episode III's Wookiee homeworld Kashyyyk and the floral Felucia, the junk planet Raxus Prime, plus an Imperial TIE fighter construction facility.
  • Decisions made by players throughout the game will determine the path of the story, including multiple endings that will rock Star Wars continuity as they know it.
  • The Force Unleashed is LucasArts' first internally developed title for next-generation consoles, and it represents the first in-game collaboration of talents and technology between LucasArts and Industrial Light & Magic, two companies now finally under one roof at the new Letterman Digital Arts Center in San Francisco's Presidio district.
  • The Force Unleashed debuts Digital Molecular Matter from Pixelux and euphoria behavioral simulation from NaturalMotion Ltd.

First off, I am a BIG Star Wars fan. Old school though, not the newer episodes. For me, this game is amazing! It looks great, plays great, sounds great & has a story that could & perhaps should have been made into a film as it seamlessly links Episodes III & IV.

Yes it is short... I finished it pretty quickly (around 10 hours actual playtime) on the hardest difficulty available (extra mode unlocks once completed) but was blown away by how good it was.

Value for money must be questioned but as a game and for being fun (which is surely what it is all about???) it is right up there with the big name titles.

No multiplayer = no problem for me. It's a nice change.

Love Star Wars??? Get this, buy it or rent it... just get it!!!

Top 100 Games Reviewer

Just to clarify i am a big star wars fan. My first opinions of this game were the demo and i was not impressed at all because it felt cheap, but then i lent it off a friend and got pulled in to the story line and the performing all sorts of jedi/sith moves like the saber throw. Some parts you might get annoyed by because there is not enough direction, i recommend the xbox forums for help on these bits but other than that. Figthing rancor's, at st's, tie figthers and star destroyers just will never get boring.

It's not the best star wars game but it's a good game overall.

It baffles me how everyone hasn't given this game 5 stars

This was without a doubt the best demo I've ever played.
The gameplay was fantastic and allows the character use the force in ways that have never been explored in a Star Wars game before, the graphics are by far the best we've seen in the Star Wars game franchise and there's a very dark and ominous feeling that is perfect given the time in which it is set.
Any game that lets you literally throw a TIE Fighter around and cut an AT-ST in half is SWEEEEET!
I can't wait for the game to be released, I've already pre-ordered it and I suggest you do the same.

From what the demo shows... brilliant

My first point im going to make, is that this demo was actually MADE months ago, before they finalised the graphics and effects, so dont comment on the graphics just yet till release, we dont know what they are like.
The gameplay is brilliant, if your imaginative enough, you can use the force powers to make some pretty comical deaths or very... destructive deaths.
And for any star wars fan, this is their key to the bridge between the original trilogy and the last three, and shows why the jedi were seriously reduced in numbers.
Overall, brilliant outlook for the game, lets hope leveling your skills doesnt make it repetitive.
