i found this game extremely pleasing! the graphics are superb, the story lines follow that of the series. Just a good game. I can see where people get bored with the constant battling but as a gundam fan there is nothing i like more then kicking the living crap out of other gundams

 Yet Another Fans Game

Having played nothing but Shonen Jump anime games I was hoping for Gundam to at least be good, sadly it's just another fan game, more so than some of the other anime games.
My problem was that I've never played a Dynasty Warriors game and the only Gundam series I've seen is Gundam Wing.
Now I'm sure the original Dynasty Warriors is very different with all the Chinese style wars but going into this game I found it extremely repetitive as all you do is mow down tons of mecha and occasionally fight the odd commander which takes more hits or fight a major character that takes a million hits.
Having only seen Gundam Wing with only small knowledge of the other series I didn't feel punished for not knowing whats going on.
With Official Mode knowledge of the first three series is recommended but not compulsory as long as you follow the mission instructions.
Where as in Original Mode all the main characters from each series come together on one planet for one great big war which would make any Gundam Fanfic writer very happy.
With my limited knowledge I have so far only completed Heero Yuy's storyline mainly because I actually know everything about his mech having seen Gundam Wing.
With that in mind I feel that the game is unfinished. Missing in action is the cast of Gundam Seed along with much of the cast of Gundam Wing, G Gundam & Turn A Gundam. Adding those series to the official mode would help give a better understanding of those series as well as give more variety in mecha as I seem to pilot pretty much the same Gundam with different weapons each time I change pilot.
I'm gonna guess that very few people have seen the much older Gundam Series so I would end by saying that it helps to be a fan of the series but don't expect the series you want to see.

this is one really great game but like all games it has its flaws such as when you play 2 player the screen is split verticaly and you cannot play online but no amount of flaws will ever make this a bad game and i would recomend it to anyone

Game for fans and new to the series

This game reminds me of some of the old Dreamcast games that only came out in Japan. It's great for button bashing but I was a little surprised when I finished the story mode in just less than 2 hours. That was until I realised that there is 8 characters to play through each with their own campaign story line in the official story mode and 16 to play through for the original story line.
You level up the character and the Gundam.
Having played the recent PS3 title which was great fun and graphically better than this it lacked the massive amounts of combat I was hoping for where as this game delivers.

I was surprised to see it has characters from all series of Gundam prior to Seed and Seed:Destiny which was a shame as those were my favourite series.
This has a large bonus for having original Japanese dialog with the original cast's and even has the option of English as well.

I would recommend this to a fan of the series and it's worth a rent for sci-fi fans.
If you don't like button bashing this isn't for you though.

 Best Dynasty Warriors Ever!

This game is out of this world. The graphics are Brilliant, The story mode is awesome and they have even made a new mode called Original mode its about saving the Earth from A giant mysterious Planet and The Story mode(Official Mode) is about The Earthnoids Fighting The Spacenoids in a epic battle. It also has easy achievements, In my opinion it is a Must Buy for 360. Overall A absolute AWESOME Game!
