  Becomes Repititive

| | See all deanlowdon's reviews (468)

Assassins Creed is a third person adventure game that can be most closely compared to 'The Prince of Persia' trilogy minus the rewinding of time and with more focus on combat. Despite being released in 2007 it still stands up to any title on the XBox360 in terms of graphics and the controls are very well designed with acrobatic moves and combat easy to pick up.

The game itself is split into chapters, each tasking you with eliminating a given target. Before you can do this however you must complete one of three basic mission types to gather info on their location and any potential weaknesses. Unfortunately however the gameplay changes very little from the first mission to the last and with a playing time of around 15 hours it becomes rather repititive. When you find yourself rescuing a citizen being picked on by guards for the 30th time it is easy to lose interest, particular since the storyline is not particually strong.

For less than a tenner I would certainly reccomend 'Assassins Creed' although you may find it difficult to play the game all the way to the end.

  Worth £10

Definately worth the cut down price, great graphics and good gameplay but it just gets too repetitive.

A must have for Xbox 360

What can I say? Ubisoft Montreal made the word "Assassin" popular. This game lasts more than 20 hours of gameplay, and really is fun; well only if you play less than 3 hours a day, since it can become repetitive, but if you avoid that, you won't get tired of this game.

It's best if you play this, before continuing onto the recent release of Assassin's Creed II, since you won't know the storyline AT ALL, and after playing the second one and then playing the first one, you will think this isn't as great, so play this first.

Graphics are stunning, and a must to play in HD, since you really are missing out playing in SD. Most of the people who say it becomes repetitive play more than 3 hours a session, which is sadistic and also unhealthy, so don't get discouraged by the large amount of people saying this isn't as good as it sounds.

Must have for a Xbox. Assassin's Creed II as well.

  Beautiful game

There's no denying that the scenic views you get are beautiful and the graphics are pretty good too. There's many optional missions although these can be repeatative after doing them once or twice. On the down side the controls can be fiddly and have on many occassion led me to start shouting at Altair as he flings himself off a building and to his death rather than climbing it. All in all a good game that I recommend playing and I'll be moving on to the next one now!

Looks amazing but thats not why i play a game. Of course it helps if the game looks amazing and you feel that ol´ jaw hit the floor a few times in amazement. But all that is still useless if the gameplay is not there. And in this game is too much of the same thing. I can´t say its a bad game at all, but it just needs that little extra thing to really kick ass.
Still a good experience.

  Fantastic

I dont know why loads of people hate this game i suppose its like marmite you either love it or hate it. Yes it gets repetitve but the climbing and free running is very enjoyable and i have played it through many times. The story is very original the sci-fi future bit i mean its not just like time travel its a great idea. The medieval story is good as well but it doesnt link with the future as much as the sequel will i cant wait for AC2 i hope it will improve on the small flaws in this classic game.

This game is worth its money. To be honest its not the best game, and i resently bought this and i get really bored because the people talk to much and too long. Love the jumping and climbing but it should be improved when assains creed II comes out in the middle of this month.

Good game to start with but gets very repetative. Also found it a bit annoying how you constantly get hassled by guards. For £10 though, worth getting!
