Dancing Stage Universe (includes Dance Mat)

Before I start, I should point out I'm a man in his mid-thirties who really should know better. However, rythmn games have always appealed so I pre-ordered this game a long time ago thinking it would be guitar hero with feet. Sadly I was wrong!

The main plus point is the game will burn calories (and can tell you how many calories you've burned). Any game that helps with fitness is a plus point in my book. The dancemat is robust and responsive - a lot better than I'd anticipated. The basic premise of stepping on arrows to music is a lot more fun than I could ever describe.

The first major flaw is a complete lack of instructions for all the game modes. There's also a lot of direct-from-japanese language in the game that doesn't make sense.

The seizure inducing backgrounds are way too much. At times it also makes it difficult to read the upcoming steps. This can make certain game modes highly frustrating (such as hitting 100 steps without error).

All in all I'd give this a 6/10. Good but not great. If you've never bought a rythmn game, I'd start with guitar hero. This is a pleasant deviation, but not much else.

If you have ever played one of these before or in the arcade then you'll love it. It's fun for everyone, young and old. For some that find the backgrounds a bit seizure inducing, please dont fret as the backgrounds can be completely switched off in the menu section.

get this game and get t now as with a review from someone else im in my late 20's got this game for my misses from my little girl for mothers day and im on it so much nobody gets a look in, great fun!!!
