  Stunning Rail Simulator

Great game. If you don't get it you don't get it. If you've follower ARTDINK's seminal range since the original 14 years ago , then this is just "pick up and play". Brilliant - can't wait for Train Giant (A-Train 9)

Junk? Ripoff? No just not Sim City

| | See all Rendass's reviews (2)

Put simply this is a thinkers game its not about graphics, or anything like building a train-set. If thats what you want then sorry it not for you. As for other reviews stating it is junk well sorry you feel that way. Stay away from gray matter games if you dont want to push your minds.
I remember people saying the same about CIV but what a game that turned out to be once you mastered it.
It not going to everyone cup of tea but its not junk.

  Railroad addiction

| | See all Rahxephon's reviews (1)

Onces you understand how the game works (it can take awhile) it's just fantastic. It's a combination of a simplified Sim City and a standard railroad tycoon.
You can create the most complex railroad network in the world but it needs skill to get everything running on shedule without blocking trains. Next you see cities rising from to ground or build your own city with schools, parks, temples, shops, appartments, skycrapers, airport ,... . If its not enough you can still build a subway network :)
I recommanded this game for people who love sim games.

Cool game, great managing your own city, hard to figure out at first but you get the hang of it after a while, great deal for £17.99 :)

  Addictive game,

I brought this game after the let down of SimCity Societies (The worse SimCity game I have ever played) as I knew this game is a city simulation, but based around railways. In my opinion this game is much better than Societies. You get to build and control railways, including subways. The city then builds up where you can add buildings, housings, shops etc.

There's isn't much of micro management like SimCity 4, but it is enough until they make SimCity 5.

Buy if you like SimCity 4.

  Seriously addictive

| | See all airease's reviews (2)

Ive completed all the 360 games, my gamerscore is now 45,000, but this is one of the most addictive games i have played. I was put off at first because i couldn't get my head around a lot of it, but its basically Sim City, in 3D.... with trains : ), now i control a huge city with an extensive rail network, skyscrapers, stadiums, shopping centres, the works and i just want to keep making it bigger and better with the profits geting better.
*Not for people with little patience!!*

  7 Zark 7

Irritating and confusing at first thanks to the poor manual and agreed - the graphics aren't amazing but they are clear. But bear with it and you'll find a very decent city/ transport management sim in there.
Top tips: play the stock market first and rack up a few billion $$$ ( buy low/sell high!) or you'll soon run out of funds (game over!) and use the 'cutaway' function to build your underground tracks & stations (big cities love tube stations) . Good game for mounting up achievment 'G's too.

  Avoid like the plague

Now please trust me on this one, this would be THE worst purchase you will ever make for an Xbox 360 game EVER.

It is simply dreadful, the menus are terrible, the graphics are dire, the manual is worse as it simply doesn't tell you what to do.

After an hour trying to show my son what to do, I cannot believe they priced that at over £40.

This game simply shows the unrealistic level of pricing thats being held in the games industry.

If you could play this before you buy, I swear there is not a hope in hell that they would sell any.

This has to be the biggest turkey ever, and I cannot believe my son wasted his hard saved money on it. He's gutted as it is absolute junk, im angry that it was allowed to be sold.

At tops this should have been a free download over Live. And in fairness I reckon no-one would keep it on there system to play it once they actually tried it.

Please please do yourself a serious favour and avoid like this one like the plague.

I would hate for ANYONE else to buy that rubbish and feel the same way.

  Great city simulation game

| | See all Borregus's reviews (2)

It's difficult to judge a game when your first see it. In this case it's more difficult. The first impresion couldn't be worse. Graphics are awful. They'd be bad even if they were PS2 graphics. Moreover, the menus on the screen can also drive you mad because of their complexity. So, why does this game deserve a 4 star rating?. This question have a simple answer: his endless possibilities. It's just great being able to create your own city, or even recreate the city you live in! You'll have to manage the city resources in order to create trains, infrastructures, buildings, etc. This game is far more similar to Sim city than to a train simulator, which is what you think about first when you see the title of the game. If you like city management games, and you enjoy Sim city series, A-train HX for the Xbox 360 is your game.

  Oh my god?

What happened here then?! This sim is awful.Maybe a train enthusiast would pick this up and get tucked right in but we all here were confused as the game threw us into the deepend with no buttons working for easy access instead everything is activated via the LB button into which everything gets even more confusing.
So out of the box there is no training mode to get you accustomed to everything so we turn to the manual where it doesnt get any better unfortunately.
Dont beleve what is on the cover of the box this game isnt amazing and definately doesnt utilise even a quarter of what the 360 is capable of.
This game should have been chucked into a 360 console sale as a freebe.
We paid fourty quid for what should have been a tenner at best. This game looks worse than a wii title, infact the game graphical structure reminded me more of the N64's graphics seriously how did this game get the thumbs up.
EA hurry and bring out Sim City or something that can give us what we want as this game sadly just doesnt cut it.
Im sure some will like it but for us its just pathetic and cruel to sell to consumers in shops at that price.
Steer clear.
