Good if you liked the original

I bought this because I had the original game (think it was on the PS?) and really liked it. This Xbox version is very very similar, which is what I wanted. Graphics are what they are but this game isnt really about looks. Entertaining to play through, and its good that you can customise you heros and army with armour, weapons etc etc. I find these games addictive, but as title really, if you liked the first one, get this one!

I found that I tended to play this game when I didn't want to do anything particularly taxing. It doesn't seem to fulfill its promise of being a strategy game, and the graphics are somewhat lacking for a next gen title. The army painter is quite a nice feature, though, and playing through the three Campaigns is pretty entertaining. I don't see it attracting any players who aren't fantasy or strategy fanatics.

  WHAT A GAME !!!!

This game is great even for people who arent into warhammer or any of the games workshop things , its awesome and please dont listen to the people who winge about the computer version being much better the only thing i would have to say was bad in the game is it has a steep learning curve

  A waste of time

So looking forward to this release but really disappointed.

It is slow, graphically weak and you don't even build on it! All you do is deploy troops and fight. One or two nice features witht the hero dual etc. . . . but not enough to keep you interested,

Anyone think ing about it should just go and get Lord of the RIngs battle for middle earth as it is by far and away the best fantasy strategy game on the 360.

  Disappointing Game!!!

| | See all Mersgoth's reviews (5)

I have to say this game is very disappointing, i don't like the controls one bit, they are way too complicated for a console and are too slow to use in the heat of battle as its like a combo of buttons (usually rt/lt + d-pad + a/b/x/y). The graphics aren't that impressive compared to other strategy games on the 360. The gameplay isn't that good as people have made it out too be.

If your looking to buy a strategy game buy supreme commander or wait for c&c: Red alert 3. This game should of stayed on the pc and not been converted to console as it doesn't work one bit

Well i must firstly say this is a vrey good game and very happy that gamesworkshop and the others have developed this pc game (mark of chaos) for the Xbox.
The controls are very complicated to start off with and i must say it took me a few hours to completely get to grips with them to the point were i didnt have to think what i was doing before i did it, but when this comes it is a very good system allowing for very fast access to your squads (troops) and the grouping system is a very good part of this allowing he gamer to quickly select groups of troups you have set together yourself which helps to bring tactics very much into this game, i am however going to compare it to the affore metioned Mark of Chaos for the PC, and whether i may be bias i try not to be as i have a very powerful gamer PC as well as Xbox, and i say in my opinion it flows alot better than the PC version especially the smooth camera use over the battle field and zooming in and out of the action, which the best PCs stutter at points.
The story and the length of the game are very good, however the Empire Army seems to be alot stronger than the Chaos or Orc armys which i was abit disappointed about as it is bias in this element of the single player campaigns, all in all a very good game and roll onb future games of this genre coping with the vast controls, and hopefully a future 40k game soon........
