i got this game, and i wasent sure if i would like it, but its so fun, i cant stop playing it, it has pool on it as an extra and all sorts of modes, the graphics are pretty coooool and live is good, its a fantastic game, i wont stop playing untill i clear the hole table in school hehe :) get this game its amazing!
I ordered this game in 2008 then called wsc 2008 for xbox360. It never came out and so i got wsc 2009 when it finally arrived. I expected it to be really good what with all the delays. The little things are what spoil this game. John virgo droning on about some cucumber sandwiches? some of his comments totally contradict what happens on the table. The camera angles can be dodgy sometimes you cant quite get the angle you want, to be able to see the pot. Also there is annoying ball in the top left corner to show the spin on the white its constantly over one of the pockets and so blocks your view. The load times are too long. Do we really need character animation if its going to cause all this loading.
To the positives, the game physics are perfect the graphics of the tables, arena and balls are superb especially as you move from the qualying stages to the main arena where the balls have a new shine on them and the tables gain chalk marks as the game goes on. This is all we need from a snooker game.
This game has good longevity if playing with your balls by yourself or playing with a friends over xbox live its very addictive as its quite easy to get big breaks (i have a 134 now). The AI is competitive and generally when you come up against the top players you will get one chance in the game.
The menu's are easy to navigate and likewise the controls. And so i end at the beginning not a bad game but should have been better.
Anyone who enjoy snooker and pool will love this game. I have not bought a WSC game since back on the PS2 so i could not comment on the differences between WSC 08 and this one 09.
Ball physics are the best ever seen in any snooker/pool/billiards game.
The graphics are incredible, so smooth and the player faces look likable to them in real life. The players cue action looks very realistic along with all the arenas, the tables, shine on the balls etc.
The commentary is ok, can be a little annoying, but you can turn off if you want.
There are official 8-ball pool championships. A shame there isnt an option to have pub balls, but still, it is the best pool simulation ever.
A must for anyone with an interest in snooker and pool.
