I don't normally do reviews of bad games, I only tend to champion the causes of the undiscovered gems, but in this case I feel I have to make an exception to save other people experiencing the worst game in recent history. The controls are appalling, there's a "cover system" which doesn't acatually let you shoot from cover and the voice acting... well, it's not quite as bad as the cheesy resident evil "master of unlocking", but it's close.
My game arrived this morning, I played it for a full hour of retina-burning, blood-pressure-rising, hate-inducing, throw-the-controller-across-the-room frustration, then promptly marched into town to trade it in. The only redeeming factor was that I only paid a fiver for it, but trust me, it's not even worth that. Avoid like something you'd catch from a lady of the night!
Well my mate and I both had the day off work so thought we'd rent something out. Were lookign for something co-op and this was the only thing neither of us had played, so thought we'd give it a go.
Truely one of the very worst games I have ever played. Didn't follow the story as it made no sense. Tries to combine GoW and Assassins Creed - the outcome being an absolute shocker.
Codemasters should be very, very ashamed by this release; or at the least, fire those worked on it
Against my better judgement and usual practice, I bought this game without reading at least one review. After 10 minutes of play I really wish I had done, from previews it looked like it could be fun so I went out on a limb and picked up a copy. To say the game is bland is an understatement.
Graphics wise this game looks pretty average, yes the levels are big, but so many games have done open vistas better (i.e. Prince of Persia, Gears of War). Speaking of Gears of War, Damnation looks like it has ripped the whole gritty urban filter right out of the far superior shooter but put it through a blender.
Characters are not fleshed out from the beginning, so right from the off, you are playing as and with a bunch of generic unknowns that you really don't care about. Gameplay again seems to steal platforming, shooting and design from far better games, but carries them off much worse. For a platform game, this has some of the worst 'floaty' controls I have ever used.
I really would advise anyone wanting to this game or any new game at all to pick something else, as you will most likely be dissapointed.
this is possibly the worst game i have ever played....ever! the only good thing about it is the massive environment, which isnt even that graphically appealing. the game play is basic, i got stuck in a wall after ten minutes of playing and had to restart my console! it doesnt give any clues as to what you have to do, there is no map.....which could be a good thing if the game was any good! i definitely wouldnt recommend this game to anyone, i would have given it no stars if that was an option.....not even worth playing if someone gives it to you.... FREE!!!
Great co-op game easy gamer points. fun xbox live modes
