Im a massive fan of Bioshock and the great thing about part 2 is that it seems like youve never left Rapture. Your thrown straight back in the mix, but this time, as a Big Daddy! Personally, from what I have played so far, this is going to be even better then the original. Dont hesitate, buy it now.....it even has a good Multi-Player mode too.
I was really looking forward to this game. I'm not ashamed to say that the first BioShock is my favourite 360 game, and of course as a direct prequel, it's hard not to compare the two games. It may seem like I'm picking the game apart, but I truly did enjoy it and 4 stars is a worthy score. First off the graphics, not really any noticeable improvements, it's been 3 years so I expected more, but that's just my opinion. The underwater segments were disappointing, comprising of you slowly trudging from air lock to air lock, where's the excitement in that?
Instead of Andrew Ryan we've got a new female antagonist named Sophia Lamb, who is holding your daughter captive. Lamb is also nothing new, just a recycled and less charismatic version of the genius Ryan.
If only the entire game had the same feeling as the last couple of hours of game play, because that was the BioShock I was expecting, but by then it was just a case of too little too late. It was like 2K had realised that the game wasn't what it should be and crammed all the innovation into the last part of the game.
I gave the multi-player a try, and it was an average experience. But for me BioShock should all be about the story. It was a good game, it's just that personally I believe a sequel (or prequel) should build on the the positive aspects of its predecessor and improve on them, therefore becoming a BETTER game, Assassins Creed and Mass Effect did this wonderfully. Unfortunately BioShock 2 just did not accomplish this and if you are a massive fan of the first like me then you might just finish the game and feel a little cheated.
20 Benson, A couple of pints, 1 Litre of diesel all good options that will last a few minutes at best. Or you could buy this game which will be a classic for years and years to come. Serioulslly the best 10 pound you will ever spend without any exceptions att all. Well thats not exacttly true you can get bioshock 1 for a tenner so joint best tenner you will ever spend. Even if you dont like the game which is allmost unthinkable you could trade it in and probally get near to your money back.
To the game it self it is very much more of the same from the first with a few minor changes and 1 major the addition of duel wielding your gun and plasmids (You also play a big daddy but it still pretty much plays the same).
The online is ok but i personally found it glitchy as hell and crashed my xbox a few times with freezing issues so i dint play it too much but the single player alone would be enough to warrant 5 star easlly for this game.
This game is perfect, it has it all, a gripping story line, multiple endings, fights, powers (Plasmids) and everything, the graphics are amazing, this game is definatly worth buying. it gives the player a new experience as you get to play as a Big Daddy.
this game is a must buy!! buy it now! go on!
If you do, you will love this.
I adored the first Bioshock and predicted the sequel to be like nearly every other game sequel, nowhere near as good as the first.
Bioshock 2 does something very rare. It manages to be very similar to its predecessor yet still prove to be different enough to feel fresh and refined. This is achieved through excellent plot, new characters an edge of your seat atmosphere that is all wrapped up in the stunningly gorgeous world of Rapture.
Computer games are like books, films and art; essentially, escapism. No other game in my opinion captures the essence of this 'escapism' better than the Bioshock franchise. Instead of living in a boring, cold Britain waiting to either be stabbed by a chav or freeze to death waiting for a bus, I am now a resident of Rapture. Yes I am being chased by Splicers throwing knives at me, being scared over and over at the sight and sound of a Big Sister and trying to rescue my kidnapped daughter. But I know where I'd rather be and I love it.
