Fallout 3 is an RPG set in the not so distant future where the world has been ravaged by the effects of a disatrous Nuclear War leaving the landscape of the U.S.A a barren wasteland riddled with deserted towns, wild animals and callous bandits. In a way this game is like a futuristic western, the landscape (although completely deformed) maintains a sense of beauty. The main story is engaging and intriguing (with the fantastic Liam Neeson voicing your father) and like Oblivion it has a fine array of side-quests and places to explore to keep you occupied. It's an ingenious concept and a unique slant on the conventional medieval/magic/fantasy RPG and it really does work. A fantastic addition for any RPG fan and probably a perfect initiation for any other gamer who wants to try an RPG because at times it feels more merged to a FPS. Highly recommended and also nice pricing by Play.com for a game bursting with such content (aswell as significant, yet pricy, downloadable content).
sorry

sorry for the bad review before i start.
dont get me wrong i really want to love this game. the image that they wanted to create for the game has surpassed my expectations and the way in which they submerse you into the enviroment is intense. but the theme that they make soo well is just not for me. i find the enviroment a little dull and even though it is inkeeping with the theme i find myself gasping for refreshment.
and i also think that the side quests, even tough they are deep, i cant help but think about the vast improvements that they could of made on the original game (not DLC) if they had included more of them. the level up system is very good and offers alot of replay value with the addition of perks everytime you level up.
it has proved that it is much more than an oblivion with guns, but if i must compare it to oblivion i shall.
oblivion is longer and more expansive and fallout is more refined and intense.
great game, but just not to my taste.
One word review? WOW

This is one of the best games on the sytem. Practically limitless freedom. You can do almost anythin. Get hooked on drugs, nuke a town, kill people, use guns, its perfect. Its not a game that can be put into words, you have to experience it, but take your time with it. The story is rather short. But there are LOADS of MASSIVE sidequests. This can keep you goin for months, plus, the 360 and windows version (AKA better versions) have the downloadable content. Even more reason. Definately recomend.
