Tiger Woods' coach is now your coach! In Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09, Hank Haney will be there from the start to assess your skills, help you tune your clubs and give you feedback after every round as you attempt to climb the leaderboards and win the FedExCup. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 is a highly adaptable game that allows both the rookie and the seasoned veteran the ability to have a personalised and customised day on the links. This year's game also features enhancements to the online experience with a highly integrated EA Sports GamerNet experience as well as an all-new online engine powering Simultaneous Play.

Performance Coach: The Tour Pros have their own coaches and now you do too. Tiger Woods real-life coach Hank Haney will guide you through your career right from the start and help you improve your skills as you play each of your rounds.

Tune Your Clubs to Maximise Your Swing: With the all new Club Tuner you'll be able to tune your individual wedges, irons, woods and driver to customise your bag and get the most out of every club. But strategy will come into play as you must weigh the risks of club performance versus ease of use. So tune wisely!

Dynamic Skills: All-new Dynamic Skills eliminates the chore of building your character up from scratch with skills you set at the beginning of your career. Based up on your performance after each round, your skills will go up and down.

Enhanced EA Sports GamerNet: Personalise your experience on EA Sports GamerNet like never before. With the all new Instant Challenges you can earn points in any game mode and climb the Daily GamerNet leaderboards.

New Online Mode: In addition, to turn based play an all-new four-player Online Simultaneous Play will allow you to compete in a four person round in the same time it takes to play single-player. No more waiting for your buddies to hit their golf shot. You will see ball trails from each of your playing partners as the foursome plays the hole at the same time.

New Courses and Golfers: New challenges await with exotic new locations including Gary Player Country Club in South Africa, Wentworth Country Club in England, Sheshan Golf Club in China, Wolf Creek in Nevada and Bay Hill Country Club in Florida. Adding international flavour to the available golfers in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 are Se Re Pak, Darren Clarke, Nick Dougherty and Rory McIlroy.

           The Best Yet....

Huge improvement over 08. Very playable, very absorbing and challenging. If you have the 08 version and are wondering if it's worth upgrading, then yes it most certainly is. Features like the 'Gamernet Challenges' are a breath of fresh air. The game has had quite an overhaul in the way your character progresses, it's easier to become better and gain extra skill, but just as easy to lose it if you are not consistent, just as in real life you can have a bad game. And as a final mention...the bunny suit.....quality!

           Massive Improvement

After witnessing a steady decline in the quality of the Tiger Woods PGA Tour games since the excellent 2004 edition, culminating in the bug ridden and seriously flawed 2008 edition, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2009 is a triumphant return to form.

This time around, Hank Haney, who is Tiger Woods' coach, is now your coach too, and he ranks your game and can set targets for you in order to improve. The whole Tiger Challenge has been revamped, making it much more accessible.

Only complaints are the removal of the commentry team of previous games, who were funny and enthusiastic, and replacing them with two commentators who both sound like they don't want to be there.

Fantastic game, 5 out of 5

Good game. Had no problem with gameface as done with the Xbox camera, and now I look exactly how i do in real life, but without the beer belly and greying hair.
2 things I dislike. The comentators are about 3 seconds behind the game ( and keep repeating themselves a lot ), and in-game items cost a fortune, a tee-shirt for $12,000 and a golf ball for $20,000 ... thats like London prices.

Online works good, games are fast and you can put wagers on yourself to win. Can get confusing when 3 other players all hit their balls at the same time as you but you get used to it.

          Enjoy.

           EA got it just right

Year after Year, EA release a TW game and each year us gamers have to settle for just a few new courses and maybe some new courses and also maybe 1 or 2 "gimmick" features. So what's different about Tiger Woods 09 that would make the golf veteran come back or make newcomers more interested than before? First of all, Tiger Woods Coach Hank Haney is put into the mix, At the start of the game, he'll assess your attributes based on your first few shots. Then after each and every round of golf, your skills go up or down depending on how well you do. This actually works really well, it forces you to play well all the time even if you are 10 shots ahead of the pack in PGA Tour Mode. Another new feature, is the Club Tuner, now this allows the golfer to tune their clubs to their own needs and what suits them the most. Seeing as you can now add probably up to 60 yards more to your drives with this new feature, you may think it makes the game easier than before, well not exactly. Each hole now provides a different challenge. On a reachable par 4, do you go for it and risk maybe being in the rough or the bunker, or do you play it safe and make sure you have a close approach? If you chose the first option, then doing this a number of times per round could severely decrease your stats.

So, Dynamic attributes is an absolutely ingenious feature and it works extremely well. Now finally, another great feature is the Online Simultaneous Play. Now, when playing online, this is optional in Stroke play. Whilst playing you still see everybody's shots and it's basically you against everybody else. It takes much less time than before. In 08, it took 40 minutes to play a 4 way stroke play and now it only takes 10 minutes. When you are not playing simultaneously or playing a team game, you still see other people take their shots but you can no longer see what club they're hitting, how much loft they're putting or even what power they're putting on. So this is much better than before, as it doesn't allow anybody to copy anybody's shots.

Overall, I give the game a 5/5, the graphics are much better than 08, the water looks sensational. I haven't really got that much to say wrong about 09 as it really is that good, which is something I normally don't say about EA. This year though, they got it just right.

           Huge Improvement

The improvements on this game from 08 are excellent. The new coach feature is invaluable for newbies to the series. The graphics are excellent and new courses are great to see.
Commentary is a bit hit and miss though but can live with that.
Overall if you are into golf, whether a pro or amateur this is the game to get and it will live up to all high expectations.
