Powered by Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare technology, Call of Duty: World at War brings an uncensored edge to combat, as soldiers face the most harrowing and climatic European and Pacific battles in which an enemy, who knows no surrender and no retreat, will fight to the last breath, unleashing an arsenal of lethal surprising tactics. Peril and danger lurk throughout the battlefield as players combat the unknown risk of the new chaos of battle.

From the remains of Russia and the ruins of Berlin, to the beach and jungles of the deadly Pacific Theatre, the volatile action takes on added depth as players employ new features that previously were only available in multiplayer, including perks, rankings and online stats in up to full four-player co-operative gameplay. New infantry and vehicle-based weapons, like the potent flamethrower, bring the battlefield ablaze.

Final Battles: Call of Duty: World at War forces players to survive the final climactic days of a world at war to thwart the advance of Axis powers on multiple fronts from Europe to the Pacific - delivering the hallmark Call of Duty cinematic intensity on a worldwide scale. Play as a U.S. Marine or Russian conscript across a variety of European and Pacific infantry, vehicle and airborne missions.

Co-Op Campaign Mode: "No One Fights Alone" takes on new meaning as players can complete the entire single-player campaign with up to four players online or two players via split-screen (both online and offline). Strategising with others provides gameplay diversity, replayability and engagement.

Addictive Multiplayer: Call of Duty: World at War continues the addictive and leading class-based multiplayer action. The addition of vehicles to the highly-successful Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare multiplayer that already includes persistent experience, player rankings, upgradeable weapons, squad-based gameplay, map scripting, customisable classes and perks, brings a new dimension to Call of Duty online warfare.

Unprecedented WWII Cinematic Quality: Utilising the jaw-dropping and revolutionary Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare engine, Call of Duty: World at War delivers an unprecedented level of visual and cinematic effects to WWII. Highly-detailed character models, self-shadowing, environmental lighting and amazing special effects up the WWII authenticity to new heights. Depth of field, rim-lighting and texture-streaming technology bring the adrenaline-pumping combat to life. Physics-enabled battlefields and destructible cover immerse players into the harrowing and dynamic combat.

I recently downloaded the beta and having playing cod 4 from the day it came out id had my fair share of playtime on the game sao i basically knew wat it was about. Then like most people heard the annoucement that Call Of Duty was going back to world war 2 , and i didnt seem to impressed and thought it would be abismal.

I played the beta for the first time 4 days before the beta ran out and i was basically hooked straight away, the gameplay is similar to that of call of duty 4 but i think its a little bit slower as the maps seem alot larger and not as many 'camping' spots as the 3 maps you play are fairly open. I think the weapons they have hit spot on as they reflect near enough all the WWII weapons, as a sniper fan and single shooter person i love the fact that the rifles you start with are single shooters and that you dont get the red dot sight at 25 kills because come on some people can get that very easyily by runnign around hip firing. Not to say you stil cant do that but this time you have to get 50 or 75 kills to earn the sight. Another part that i found hard but didnt anoy me at all that was all the other snipers apart from the springfield you had to get 25 kills as using it as a bolt action rifle without a scope or dot sight to earn your scope. Frustrating as it is, as you have to hit people 2 times usually unless u hit them in neck or above (this is even with stopping power) it make it harder to rank and get the attachments to the weapons.
As i found with cod 4 i thought it was very easy to rank up and get the 150 kills with the weapons as you get the red dot sight at 25 kills.
On the whole game play and different game types you can have i love the fact that there is still the hardcore side of the game and the normal type. i love the fact that they have also introducded the capture the flag game type again.

On the whole i wud recommen this game and i feel its success will be bigger than the success of call of duty 4.

This game is a must have for 360 and ps3

Having read up on this game, watched hours of game footage and played 4 days on the beta i can say this game is set up to be amazing.
At first i thought this game was going to be cod3 remake that would get boring after a few days. I was soooo wrong, with only 3 maps and half the weapons the beta is still exciting.

      Good points;
-Amazing campaign that looks like it will be hard and fun
-4 Player split screen in all campaign and zombie modes
      - Zombie mode !!! This is going to be really big, if you havn't heard about this well, zombie mode is a game mode where 4 players online or in splitscreen have to defend a house from nazi zombies, it looks very exciting and hard.
      - The online- online will not be as good as cod4 but it will be very good

      Bad points-
      Unnaccurate guns
Noting else except from its not free!!!

Overall this game will be cod4 but put back 60 years, yes this is a good thing because it is the best game out there but with a huge expansion pack :0

Zombies made this game. Multiplayer was ok until 6 year olds starting playing and ruined games and game chat. Campaign was half decent, but not a scratch on COD 4 or MODERN WARFARE 2

       Awesome! Pre-Order!

Nothing short of brilliance! Action play is quick and graphics are very detailed! Online Beta play gives an awesome look at what to expect. Will be pre-ordered and played to the max. Brilliant maps, really is World War, can't wait!

Been playing this a couple of days now, and i must admit the first hour or so i really didn't like it, i didn't know the maps, and i just wasn't used to it. (Got killed a lot) and i'm not used to that on cod4 being 10th prestige and a kill ratio of 2.8 :)
But that's all changed, once you get used to the weapons the maps and how people play, it is a great game, good perks, weapons, bigger better maps than cod 4 but a little slower paced. Also it's good to see your legs and arms getting blown off on the kill cam

I also noticed one of the perks doesn't unlock until level 65 (flamethrower) and the more prestige's you do the more custom slots you get to create your own classes, so this time round it pays to prestige.

So if you can get used to ww2 weapons and like bigger maps i think you will enjoy this as on online game.
