Great for SFII experts, but not for the average person

Not particularly welcoming to the non-expert. Unless you're already a proficient SFII player, then this will just frustrate you.

Great Game only to be let down by the 360 controller

Street Fighter IV is possibly the best version from the entire series. They have kept the old 2D style graphics and thrown them into a 3D universe. If you grew up with Street Fighter then you will be familiar with the controls and know how the game should be played,
Now to the bad point! The Xbox 360 Controller is the worst type of controller that can be used on SFIV, the D Pad is just not up to the job even though MS have two versions of the 360 controller, most people will have the original standard 4 way D pad and not the newer revised 8 way D pad, even with the extra points on the D Pad it still lacks any proper control as trying to pull of the more complicated moves prove fruitless.
You would understand if you have played SFIV on a proper arcade stick or an old SNES pad.
Over all If you want a great fighting game then you still can't go wrong with SFIV, it's a fantastic game only let down by that small grey round thing below the analogue stick.

 Amazing game but beware...

After putting the street fighter iv disc into my 360 for the first time i instantly went into arcade mode to try and gain some of the achievements. I am an avid fighting games lover (the doa series is my favorate), so i thought medium mode would be slightly challenging but not too hard...

How wrong was i? It was infuriating! I'll admit, this game has a fantastic gameplay mechanic and beautiful graphics but the learning curve is far to steep. Capcom has obviously made this game for the hardcore street fighter fans who have dedicated alot of their lives to playing sf ii and sf iii but in doing this capcom have stopped any new players from getting into the game. The amount of players online shows this, with only 9 people online this friday afternoon, all of whom were in the top ranks so it made it hard to find and win any matches.

By all means get this game. It's amazing, but be prepared to put in alot of hard work to get anything out of it. Additionally, make sure you are ready for the garunteed swearing that will come out of your mouth when fighting final boss character seth. He's even a pain to beat on easiest mode...

!!!!!!!!Please Try Before You Buy !!!!!!!

I do have to say i was looking forward to playing this game for a while, it came in the post this morning, so in it went straight into my machine, and all was looking well, all the intro's were spot on, all the intro music got you pumped, and the graphic's are perfect but playing the actual game was a big let down for me, at first it was way to hard and i have played many street fighter versions over the years, but stuck at it, and with in a few hours i masterd the game and compleated the arcade mode, so all ready to play on line and all you get is one hit wounders who just keep firing there special fire or ice and stun moves at you !!!!!!, will stick with it for now, but any body reading this before you spend your hard earned cash please go and rent this game first and try before you buy as this could be a let down under all the hype.....

 The best fighting game, ever!

Since the original Street Fighter 2 on the Sega Mega Drive many years ago, I have not been able to find a fighting game that takes its crown. Sure there were plenty of great ones and I did like a lot of them but every one of them was missing that special X factor that made Street Fighter 2 so great.

Street Fighter 4 returns to the fighting to back to basics. The original characters (minus T Hawk from Super Street Fighter 2) are back plus new additions, each of the fighter still feels as if they never left the scene. All of the original moves are still their trademarks, so Hadokens, Yoga fires and Sonic Booms are still present and just the same to pull off in a fight. The graphics are brilliant, sound is brilliant (though music is a little cheesy), character roster is impressive, it is balanced, but most importantly, the gameplay is just perfect.

If I had to nitpick, it's just that the XBox 360 controller is a bit fiddly for fighting games at this intensity, it may be worth forking out for a 6 button controller but it depends how you feel about it really.

Street Fighter 4 is by far the best fighting game I have ever played. I have been a fan of the series from when I was a wee lad and am definitely happy with this purchase. I would recommend it to any fan or anyone who loves beat 'em ups.
