  Good

This is quite similar to street fighter 2 as all the special moves are the same and the fighters look spot on.
The only thing i hate about this game is the horrific soundtrack and that really annoying voice that announces the matches, with a better soundtrack this would have been a classic, but the biggest niggle of all is that when i bought this i didnt know super street fighter 4 was coming out a month later!!!

  Hmmm good and bad points...unfortunately

The game is perfect for like 30 mins to an hours worth of play, and it is fun and typically arcadey although there are bad points...

Firstly the graphics are very good, cell-shaded and good motion animation, especially with one character which happens to be....rather large and you get to see his belly move to almost every movement, pretty disgusting but good to see the attention to detail.

The sound is hit and miss. SOMETIMES and literally sometimes the sound is good otherwise the "rock" music that accompanies the fights is just horrible. luckily (well for me) it was masked from my own temper at why my character didn't block) also the end of fight "win quotes" are not good either, typically japanese and no dubbing just text, i guess its good that there is no dubbing...considering the rest of the sound.

The worst thing is by far the most annoying. I was playing my sister the other day, i lost, and it was down to the reason that she was button mashing, where i was trying to counter and jump and left hook right hook. Nothing would work. I havent tried it online but if the button masher becomes the winner then i will not be playing it online, in a 1-on-1 fighting game, you would hope that real skill comes into play, it doesnt seem that way in Street Fighter though :(

Oh and by the way the single player i also found way to hard. I play on medium and theres two more difficulty levels and it really is hard. First two fights were very easy then suddenly im playing a woman who is secretly a dragon. Frustrating comes to mind.

All in all its a very good game for quick bouts here and there and possibly in a party but if like me and you get frustrated fairly easy then i would avoid although having said that it is a good game.

Enjoy!!

  Good multiplayer game

I bought this a month ago, and I have to say that I have enjoyed the the game a lot. At first I though the game sucked, it was way too hard to get through the arcade mode. But the fun started when I asked my brother over for a fight. I guess we played 4 hour in one sit. This is a game worth buying if you have someone to play it with you. But if you're a loner, this isn't worth a buy.

  Not what i was expecting...

I am a fan of street fighter i'm nearly 30 so i remember it the first time round and playing it in the arcade with my mate's but this is not as fun as i was used to playing in the past, yea sure the graphics are better but this was never a game you played because it looked good.

I find the single player a bit rubbish, after you unlock all the people there is not much else to do and the online thing is not much use as everyone takes it a bit to serious ( or mabye i'm just rubbish lol).

If you want a game to play with your mates after a few jars then this is it as it fast turns into " just one more turn, i'll get him next time".

It really is great for a party game but other than that stay clear.

  Brilliant

If you are a fan of Street Fighter then you will love this game, it retains all of the move structures everyone knows jazzed up with some heavy front end graphics.

  Time Consuming

Excellent game for people who love fighters and perhaps those that don't. There is alot to do arcade mode aside, there are challenges such as survival, time attack and trials which can take huge portions of time to complete. The multiplayer is very fun and you will find yourself playing for hours, atleast i did. Aswell as ranked/player matches, there is a championship mode which allows to you move through the ranks as you win or lose.
But the game is heavily based on skill, so as other reviews said, if you have the patience to learn characters etc youll probably enjoy it more.

  very good

Can't argue with this game its a very good fighter. There are a few problems with it but to be honest it doesn't matter its a hell of alot of fun, it can become a tad boring after a while but this happens with alot of fighters. All in all a good game

If you love fighting games and have the patience to learn to play this increadably in depth game you'll have endless fun! It really is perfect to keep all the original street fighter fans happy and possible create a new generation of street fighter players. Online play is like a dream come true to fans who used to que in arcades to play other fighters. However if you are impatient and not a massive fighting game fan you'll find the game play limited, short lived and feel cheated of your money.
Also you must own an arcade stick to play this. Trying to pull of advanced special combo's on an xbox controller would be like asking your arthritic gran to tie a bowline knot.
5 stars if your a hardcore virtual fighter.

  Amazing game

This is an amazing fighting game and continuation where Street Fighter 2 left off. It's similar but dissimilar. The basics are like Street Fighter 2 so you can pick up and play, and it's easy enough for beginner's to start. However there are some subtle changes and a lot of additional special moves and combos which will take hours to master. Best fighting game of this generation!

  Cool game

This game is really cool but way to difficult, I have played sf2 alot and the easiest levels on sf4 are way to hard. But the game looks cool and I love that they are back on 2D.
