UFC 2009: Undisputed (with Play.com Exclusive UFC 2009 Mini Strategy Guide)

I have been looking forward to playing this game for some time now and downloaded the demo from Xbox Live and I have to say overall the game is really very good. I am a big fan of the UFC and the MMA scene in general and the creators of this title have captured it remarkably. Whilst standing and trading punches during the fight the physics are sound with a large repetoire of different strikes; the knockouts are also enjoyable. The clinching and takedowns work really well and your opponent always has the opportunity to counter them, no move is a sure thing in this game which is just like a real fight in the UFC. The biggest challenge in my opinion for the creators was making the ground fighting work and they've done it unquestionably well. You can adjust the position of your fighters on the ground simply but never feel like your overwhelming your opponent or being allowed to move too easily and defending works just as well. The main thing I like about this game is just like in the real UFC fights can end or have the tables turned at any time with a good punch or kick knockout or even gaining a good position from a skillful counter leading to a submission or TKO. An example of this was when I was fighing against a friend, I was in control of the fight landing blow after blow when I suddendly decided it would be a good idea to go for a takedown, as I moved in for it my friend threw a knee into my head knocking my character out instantly and ending the fight, its this kind of spontaenious happening that makes the game great fun to play, theres no boring hammering a part of your opponents body so their lifebar goes down enabling you to finally knock them out or submit them, anything can happen at anytime, any fight can be turned round. If your a fan of video games and the UFC this is a must buy, the graphics and gameplay are brilliant and it blows any wrestling game or boxing game out of the water in terms of fun and gameplay. I will most definately be buying this game when released.

UFC or/and fighting game fans are going to love this! You only get 2 fighters in the demo but that doesnt matter.

First off the graphics are great, fighters sweat, look like the people they're supposed to, bleed and get cut. When you punch/kick enough the blood splatters on the mat and stays until the fight ends which for me is awesome.

The crowd react really well and set the atmosphere of the fight along with good commentaters.
The controls were quite difficult to get used to but the in-game tutorial sorted that out and had me reversing submissions in no time.

Punches/Kicks/Elbows/Knees all connect and you can see the contact. 1 Example of a KO i got was where the fighter threw a punch and turned his head, i counter-punched and hit him in the back of the head! The replay had me laughing for ages.

This is a must buy game and tops my pre-orders, i look foward to creating my own fighter to take on the likes of lesnar!

Ok being a UFC nut its easy to be biased here so i will try and not be!!!!

Firstly this is based on the demo, now i dont usually do demo reviews but my fear here is that the game might miss a lot of exposure so lets get it on!!!!

The graphics are spot on, extremely detailed and the fighters instantly recognisable to fans (only the 2 so far in the demo!), all the intros, tale of the tape, annoucing by B.Buffer, Edith and Arianny Octagon girls........the lot its all there in HD glory!!!!!!
The sound is excellent with like i said the annoucing, the commentary, crowd fx, fight fx, the theme music...........all as in the series.
Playability is very good...............initially very overwhelming as there is a ton of moves per fighter, stick with it and you start to uncover the basics............this looks like a very rewarding fight system to those willing to learn and avoid button bashing.

As you can tell this is thankfully an awesome game and the sport gets a title worthy contender.
Hopefully the full game is as awesome throughout, im sure it will be and defo worthy of a purchase not only for MMA fans but sports and fight fans to boot!!!!!!!!!

Downloaded the demo from xbox live, everything about the game is great! stand up,clinch,takedowns,submissions,cuts,welts ,highlight reels the list is endless. have been waiting for UFC UNDISPUTED to come out since the last release on PS2.. the game as expected is a million times better in gameplay and graphics. this game is a definate buy if you are into any form of fighting. if your an MMA fan like myself you will feel like a fat kid in a candy shop!!! BUY IT!!!!

Goodnesss.... this game is unreal. UFC fans will adore this from start to finish... Even UFC fans will think this is the bees knees. gameplay is awsome. only play'd the demo so cant really say to much but i had about 100 fights last night and i didnt get bored and you can only be 2fighters... in my eyes that says alot.
