Madden NFL 09

the reason why I being so kind is because the main thing that stopped me giving this game a 1 star rating is, is the weather when it snows you can see it on the pitch & the players footprints where they have been & when it rains you can see the players kits get pitted with wet mud & you can create your own team name & stadium(but not as good as in the lma manager series of games). The main thing that lets it down is the differculty level when you play online, what I mean by that is you could of say made it 24-0 in the 2nd quarter with about 2mins to go on 5min quarters then the other player quits it give you 3 options when that happens play the rest of the game against the CPU on all-pro, end the game & get part of the rank points if you played the whole game but not all of them & your stats go up a bit but it wont count as a win for you for some reason (that's mainly on the lazey EA's side) or I think count as a void match. I chose play the rest of the game against the AI since I had a 24-0 lead, and some how lost 24-25 since I couldn't get it off All-Pro(1 notch on the top differculty setting I think), my players only made about 2 or 3 half deacent plays & only 1 good play all the rest they kept giving it back to the AI & letting them keep going past to win 24-25 & the ref missed when an AI player cought the ball ahead of the line but took it a few yards behind the line I challenged the play & they missed it.(Posted on 24/9/09)

Every year EA's marketing machine tells us how "this is the ultimate version" and every year, within 10 minutes of playing you discover they STILL haven't fixed the bugs from last years game, they STILL haven't implemented all the features that the current gen (ie NOT PS3 or 360) consoles had and they STILL only care about people playing online and not the bedrock of their community, the offline single players.

It looks pretty, the commentary for once kind of works, but your wide receiver will still get chased down from behind by a linebacker (which you never see on Sunday), your running back gets magnetically tackled by a defensive lineman that's on his chest 5 feet away and your QB will get sacked with the ball despite you having pressed the button to throw it to a receiver.

I've bought and played every version of Madden since 98, this is definitely the prettiest, but i still keep going back and playing 2005 edition on my PS2, that was the most complete experience and unlike this version, doesn't crash EVERY time you do a pre game workout, or at half time, or just after you've kicked a game winning field goal or when you save the game on exit....

EAs attitude is shocking and I would give this a miss.

Not easy to get into, but when your in. Its one of the top games i have ever played.....a must for any nfl fan......go dolphins

Every year the Madden series gets better. Very enjoyable whether you play your mates on the AI. A must have for any NFL fan.

I do enjoy playing madden games be it online or with friends and the online features on this game are amazing and the roster updates are very useful other than that though the game is pretty much the same as the other years the virtual trainer needs to be completely redone as it is not impressive at all

What happened EA!. Madden used to be the greatest sports game, but the gameplay has been changed completly. Graphics are good, but gameplay is rubbish. Don't buy. EA listen up if it aint broke dont fix it.

I've enjoyed this game a lot however there are several problems which are a real pain. Firstly in Franchise mode when the computer chooses to "move franchise" they are called e.g. "Las Vegas Atomic" but have a hawk as their logo. That is a minor irritation, however the game also crashed everytime I played away to one of the new franchises.
I enjoy it and it is a must for NFL fans but it could be better.

Madden rocks every year and I like this years editon even better. The online play makes this game top notch. Well done, EA.

Another great Madden game from EA. I have bought the last 4 Maddens now and they just improve each year. Madden dont seem to take anything away each year which means the just add and improve to what they have already got.

The Madden test feature makes the game very fair as it tests your ability on passing, rushing and and their respective defences. This means that the AI of the game knows how good you are and adjust accordingly creating its own skill setting called "My skill"

A few people have complained about glitches in the game???
I have had the game for around 2 weeks and mine hasnt gone wrong yet. Maybe i've just been a bit lucky so far but i have had no problems with it yet.

I love this game, if you like NFL you will love this.

It looks and plays amazing, there are some nice touches such as the training process and the soundtrack is decent. I cannot fault this game at all.

After reading the majority of the other reviews it appears that others have experienced problems/glitches. I must have been lucky cause mine is playing perfectly.

There is a update as well (if you can get your xbox on the internet) that might sort out any glitch problems. I dont know cause I haven't experienced any!

In summary; Great Game A++, just hope your copy doesnt have a glitch.
