NHL 09

Ok I'm English a HUGE HUGE Pes fan, I've always enjoyed Ice Hockey on tv, then went to a few games in the UK but found it a bit lacklustre to the atmosphere I saw on tv over the pond, but then I remembered Speedball on the Sega Megadrive and loved it, then I remember a hockey game on the PS1 which me and an house mate played on on the same team whilst destroying all oncomers.

NHL09?...............Blows me away!

I don't use this word often but I will now, This game is immense, it's super charged, graphics are made in HD grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, gameplay is freeflowing and as imaginative as you want it to be, (albeit the comp players can be behind your ideas at times) but otherwise it's truly awesome!!!!!!

Honestly my brethren from England, buy this game and get into it, it really is something to behold, gameplay gameplay gameplay, can't emphasise it enough, I am kinda bored of Pes now!!!!! This game actually makes me jump out of me seat and raise a fist to a goal!!!!! Be a pro mode kicks ass!

I've always been more of a football fan and in particular PES however i thought i'd give NHL 2009 a bash as had read very good reviews about it online. Thus to say i was not dissappointed. More options than you'll ever need, great online play and end to end sports action all round. A Must buy!

After NHL08 being voted best sports game all over the globe it was obvious we were in for something big with 09. Unlike such rival sports games as Fifa, NHL takes a different approach to its gameplay, it is a lot more complex and creative, like we have seen in the skate game aswell. The right thumbstick instead of being for some kind of camera position or moving like we see in other games has been used in this game for shots. I know your thinking "how exactly" simply the motion you'd do when playing hockey push forward is a slap shot and pull back push forward is a "power shot". Very creative and run for beating that keeper one on one. This combined with the movement stick makes for awesome gameplay. Although I have never stepped out on the ice to play I love every minute of this game! The only poor thing I can pick up on is the poor user interface that seems to come with all EA games, of well you get used to it eventually.

The normal play like (play now) arnt as good as the 08 version the sound isnt as good so when u hit some one the controller dosnt vibrate but on the other hand the "be a pro" mode is ausum u have to sit in the penalty box if u behave badley and u even have to take time out on the bench to rest so overal i had to give it a five star because of the quality of the detail put into the be a pro mode

I can't stop playing this game, it's really incredible, the moves and the different games. Can't wait for the nhl 10 i bet that it's even more amazing than this one. this is a most have.
