Decided to buy this after a great Christmas playing Rock Band. As it is just mainly for me and I only have a small apartment, decided to get this rather than Rock Band as most people said this was the better option single player and would never really bother with the drums. Firstly the good points; great fun with great rock tracks (mainly). However the bad points for me were the guitar fret buttons were a little 'sticky' for me and I missed a few notes because of this, some of the tracks were so obscure and strange they seemed totally out of place, the final few concerts in single player mode had some impossible tracks to play and finally I complete single player mode version in only as couple of days. Overall then fantastic game to play with your friends where you chose your own tunes, average as a single player game. 4 stars overall.

 Rock on BUT.....................

What a game, good tracks easy to pick up and hard to put down. I did not think the GH3 could be beaten but they have done it with this. If you already have an existing Explorer (wired controller) stick with that. The only gripe I have is with the new guitar, the one I had had 2 sticky fret buttons that would either jam just as you selected a note or not work at all, after a few days of playing the strum bar squeeked very annoying. I have seen other reviews else where about this problem. The game on its own gets 5 stars from me, but as for the guitar pack it gets 4.

 Great Fun! (guitar only version)

I bought the "Guitar Bundle" version of the game and am thoroughly enjoying it! Infact I wish I had enough cash to buy the full band set now as the drums look really fun to play (although there has been some negative feedback about drum issues which are yet to be fixed).

I play guitar for real and always thought "why spend time playing/mastering this game when you could spend that time on a real guitar and improve on a real instrument?". I managed to buy a copy of this for £50 so I just HAD to give it a try. Whilst time is better spent on real instruments it is good to just relax and play/have fun on this game. I highly recommend it.

The only issue I had with the guitar was the red button sometimes didn't work. All that is required is to turn off the controller and back on again and everything is fine. It's only happened twice so far, not sure what caused it.

So if you enjoy music, get this game. If your "on the fence" about this because you can play guitar for real, it's still worth buying as it simulates being in a band really well (although you don't get let down by late drummers, and other real issues. lol)

Get it, get it now. Have fun! :)

 Great Game... Disappointing Controller

The game itself is excellent, especially the tool songs! The guitar however is terrible. I had to take it back and it seems i'll be taking it back again, the first time the strum bar would get stuck on a downward strum so i took that back and this time it stopped registering downward strums after a few hours of playing. I hope they sort this out because the touchpad is a very nice idea and i think this guitar could be really awesome... If it worked!

 Good but.

The songs are great and the game is fun to play... but the new guitar is a let down. For some reason it thinks im playing notes when i not even touching the strum or anything else. For example, at the beginning of the Linkin park - what ive done song... you dont need to play... and the guitar starting playing notes without me touching it... i even put the guitar down and moved away but still plays. Im not sure whether its the touch pad thing or what but its annoying.
