I played the demo for this game from the XBlive network a few weeks before the full game was released, and reviews were starting to surface that the full game was a bit special. I wasn't taken 100% by the demo for some reason, but still enjoyed it enough to sit down and play through a few times, so I thought I'd give the full title a go.
I'm so glad I did. What followed was a good week's worth of gaming brilliance; the perfect balance of Batman-fiction blended in with solid gameplay, an amazing amount of depth (as well as the puzzle and platform element of the game you can deliberately SCARE your enemies, rather than attack them directly, seriously, I've left guards randomly shooting shadows because they thought they saw something there). The enemies are incredibly varied, the story is excellent and there's tons of secrets to keep you busy for weeks after you finish it.
I'm actually considering buying it again, just to keep it as a title that I'd go back to every now and again. A worthy contender for "Best Game of 2009", very few other titles come close to this. Buy it now.
