Dead or Alive 4 will be the leader in fighting games as it once again raises the bar in both online and offline fighting. By utilizing the advanced technology of the new Xbox 360 hardware, Dead or Alive 4 will redefine 3-D high definition graphics as the attention to detail is astounding from each strand of the character's hair to each cherry blossom falling from the sky, creating the most visually beautiful and realistic looking video game to date.
Dead or Alive 4 also boasts incredible new interactive stages, an all star line-up of old and new favorite characters, and the most complex DOA countering system yet, all adding up to the must-have video game to own along with Xbox 360 this holiday season.

 Worth The Buy But No More Big Big Combos!

Great game, but can leave you irritated by Tecmo's increasingly hard games (Ninja Gaiden On hard hahahahahah....oh the pain) is hard if you have never played a DOA game before and younger people probably will get stuck again and again.

 its good but can get repetitive

 AI = Atrocious Intelligence

Maybe the title of this review is a bit harsh but spend an hour with this game and it can feel like that.

Almost everything about this game is brilliant and I have been a fan of the series since picking up a second hand copy of DOA2: Hardcore way back when on the PS2. All the best aspects have been constantly improving over the series from gameplay to graphics, story to characters, multiplayer and now, online!

However a revamped counter system and a skittish AI can let this game down sometimes. I'm the first to admit that I'm not a hardcore arcade gamer but I'd like to think with 4 or 5 years under my belt with this series I should be able to hold my own on the default settings but it just seems that you either win some or you lose some at random. The most frustration comes from getting the computer to a sliver of health and then it stands there and waits for your attacks, counters each and everyone until you're dead and at this point you can't help but think that the AI might just be a little bit unbalanced.

Never the less I can't help but keep on playing this awesome game and it's predecessors on the Xbox (DOA3 and DOA Ultimate). Each and every game has it's flaws but for a series with such heritage I can forgive the occasional battering from the computer.

Recommended for fans and with reservations for newcomers.

Top 100 Games Reviewer

I like this game and it was only £10 fair price but its just so difficult all the modes are so hard you have to be a real fighting gamer to be able to properly master this game.If i didnt think it was so hard i deffinatly would have gave it 4 stars.

Not quite sure what to make of this. Yes its a brilliant fighting game and i will always prefer it to any other...that being said im not a massive beat em up fan.

On hardest difficulty it is really random, either the A.I hands you your ass on a plate and counters 75% of your moves or you just walk all over them and get a flawless round.

All round good fighting game, with lots of moves, options and characters. Got rid of the team tag mode from the other games which upset me and my mates for co-op, but still a pretty cool game.
