Official Xbox 360 VGA HD AV Cable

This vga cable is highly recommended, the image quality is fantastic, far better than component, and you can go 1080p which is really good, i have a 24 inch monitor (the dell 2407 a04 is amazing) and with 1:1 pixel ratio on 1080p it looks gorgeous. Vga is every bit as good as dvi and hdmi when used properly, and the xbox 360 definitely uses vga to its full potential. (I compared vga to hdmi on the xbox elite and i could not tell them apart at all, except the hdmi was a little too bright in places, some of the shines off of cars and so on were unrealistically completely white, so i prefered vga).

An earlier reviewer stated that the colours are washed out and that it's better to stick with component.

They were correct but the spring 2007 update has fixed the problem and now the colours are just as good as component, but VGA is slightly sharper.

So if your TV supports VGA theres no reason why you shouldn't use VGA to connect your Xbox 360.

When I ordered my Xbox-360, I was excited about finally playing games In High definition, then horror! The HD TV we bought a while backs only HD input was a VGA designed for the use as a computer screen. I felt annoyed about the fact I was going to have to splash out a few hundred quid on a new TV. However luckily I came across this fantastic product. Not only does it give you crystal-clear picture but it also turns Flat-panel monitors you have at home into fully functional HD gaming screens. the only complaint I have is that it's not very easy to screw in but for most people this will probably be a one off job. To conclude this is a fantastic product and a must have for anyone who really does not want to spend £400+ on a HD television.

Word of advice: make sure that the screen you plan to use is compatible as some older Flat-panel monitors are not.

I'll be honest with you. I was a little worried about buying the VGA cable. I'd heard that when used, it tended to 'wash out' colours.

When I first booted it up, the colours and resolution looked dreadful, but once I'd adjusted everything, it all fell into place.

It looks far better than component. Images are far crisper and detailed. I even noticed anti-aliasing (smoother edges), something that is sorely missed from using component cables.

Any fears of washed out colours should be discarded. It seems the spring update has done its job.

As I already have a Wii and MythTV I wanted to be able to connect my 360 to my 19" Monitor and be close to my router. The cable is good quality and gives an excellent picture. I read reviews of other VGA cables and most people were less than satisfied so I can heartily recommend this. It also has an adaptor to convert the stereo plugs to a single jack to plug into your monitor's speaker port or separate amp. Only downside is that its a little on the expensive side.
