i have had these new style of headphone for about a month, they are very reliable and the sound quality is very good. you can use these for in game chat, and annoy the 12 yr old american kid who thinks is hard cuz he's trash talking thousands of miles away. very reliable but are fragile so take care of them and dont throw them around as they will brake. they are very cheap for the sound quality that they offer

  Good Quality, Short-Lived By Faults.

First off I'd like to start off by saying the quality is quite remarkable. Especially considering they're reasonably cheap compared to other headsets.

However.. they are like ticking time bombs.. who knows when they will stop working. Very unpredictable. From things such as lose wiring nearing the port of your Xbox 360 controller, to wiring actually in the headset.

Prepare to be ordering a few more of these.

  Reliability

Many of myne and my friends headsets have become faulty after a couple of months of use and some have completely broken I recomend that you purchase an older version of the headset which is the one with the switch at the base of controller where it connects they seem to be more reliable or you should invest in a wireless.

More Fragile Then a Egg in my opinion.

As they come standard with every xbox, i wasn't expecting them to be the Diamond Standard of Headsets, but i think its down to use and the actual handling of the headset which causes them to break so easily.

i've had three of these babies, and the main cause of their downfall was me accidentally mistreating it; Sitting on it, throwing it off in sheer frustration after losing, or the occasional oral consumption of the Microphone, can easily damage it.

but if you are heavy-handed and get frustrated easily, i advise you to save up for a while and buy a Wireless Headset, there a alot more durable.

in the end Its a great piece of kit for the price, but when you get it - Treat it Like Royalty.

Very fragile but good sound quality

we're on our 4th headset and we have not had the console for a year yet. Tips broke off 2 of the headsets in the hand set and the last one the volume and sound has completly gone. But since we have signed up for a years live its much better with a headset to communicate to others so therefore we have no choice but to buy another, Bought a cheaper version too and that lasted weeks.

  Good but do not last.

The mics have very good sound quality, fit well and are well priced. however mine only lasted around 4 months and just stopped working all together i also managed to snap the fragile plastic which keeps the mic on just by grapping it as it fell from my table.

  great value for money

These wired headsets are very good with great sound quality and should last for ages if treated carfully as they are quite fragile. One problem i had was that the sound kept going on and off but dont worry if this happen as all it means is that the batteries are low on your controller and once fully charged should be workin fine.

Couldn't ask for better for the price

The old style of MS headset had a habit of breaking at the end of the jack, with this new design there is no such problem. I also found that with the old headsets where the volume wheel was integrated into the jack, when i was playing guitar hero and resting the guitar on my led, it would turn the volume control down as i was playing, again, this does not happen with this new design.

As well as fixing these two problems that the other headset design has, it is lightweight, doesn't completely obscure sound from around you in the room, it is lightweight and has very good sound quality and microphone pick-up for only £12/£13.

This new style of headset with "In-line volume control and mute switch" (as opposed to the old design), will probably last longer than your Xbox 360 console if treated carefully.

  Pretty good headset

If you want a cheap headset which does it's job and no more get this. I don't know what people are doing to them to have them break but with care this headset will last for ages. Yes, it is basic but it wasn't made to be perfect. If you want better then i suggest the Ear force x1's
