Now it's time to see if you have the tactical nous to match your battlefield bravery. Have you got what it takes to lead an entire army into battle? Can you make the tough political decisions required to keep your rivals in check? Will you be able to unite all of ancient China through diplomatic cunning and military might?

Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires gives you the chance to answer all of these questions. For the first time ever in a Warriors game you get the opportunity to play as either a ruler or an officer. You can choose to be the all powerful decision maker who combines politics and tactics to achieve the ultimate goal or the warrior who carries out those orders and turns strategic planning into battlefield glory.
  • Choose from two distinctly different ways to play the game
  • Create your own unique character in Edit Mode
  • Collect and use special cards to gain a strategic advantage both in battle and in your political manoeuvring
  • Explore each level to discover strategic advantages and use new surprise attacks to catch your enemies unaware
  • One new character that didn't appear in Dynasty Warriors 6 and six more characters have new weapons and new move sets
  • Brand new stages and levels that present new challenges to overcome, including the return of the Nanman Kingdom

the game is good,an improvement on empires 5 but is confusing. You can now swap armies and defect whenever you like but can only control one person at a time again which i feel is a let down. When you get the hang of it though it is a great game, definetely one for fans of the series.dissapointed with the amount of characters they cut them down!

 Good but could've been better

The officer mode on DW6 Empires its quite cool. Officer mode you get to do side missions join a force or revolt and become a ruler etc. However ruler mode could've been better, I wasn't a fan of the card thing thing that replaced consulting your officers, i'm still playing on it but so far theres no strategies an really not much of a challenge on ruler mode, you may aswell play DW5 it has the upper hand on some aspects. Also some of the weapons and characters in my opinion are quite lame and childlike, evidence for this is character Wei Yan. Overall for me this game is JUST "ok" its to nothing to talk about, or make you wanna play it non-stop. It's just "ok" however on a good note the graphics also the fighting has gotten better.

Not as great as it could be.

The game is great, but it could've been a lot better. There's no Free Mode, only an extended Empire Mode. There's also no "Load Original" to give us anything from the original DW6. The Empire Mode is great, and the mode to let you use your own Warriors is good. Surprising, the game is merely a Menu screen where you can draw "Cards" and use them, upgrade your weapons, go to the shop, or go to battle. You can't even position your troops at the places you've captured either. I didn't think they'd get rid of any features from the old DW5: Empires but they have. They also didn't add any XBOX Live gameplay available, which would have been good. However, there are less generic weapons now (except for the women) as they've changed a few people's weapons. They brang back one old character but no other one's, which is a shame. However, they are offering free DLC (music and CAW armour), so they may make old characters available through DLC. Overall, it's a great fun game, just like DW6 and I recommend it if you're a fan of the series or want to play a good button masher, but it could've have been a lot better. I was expecting more.
