Ion Drum Rocker Premium Drum Kit Controller for Rock Band 2 (Xbox 360 Version)

Iv just bought this and its great. very responsive and fully adjustable. It will work with gh but only shows the 4 drums, only the gh set will give you the orange cymbal. Is better to use it with rock band 2 as the cymbals make the right noises and so on. my velocity sensitivity doesnt work but im not fussed about that, works great when playing songs. Pedal is not good at all so you might want to get destroyer pedal or rock pedal to replace it. I use a Roland KD-8 bass trigger with a kick box.

First of this is a great piece of kit and well worth the investment. Adding the extra cymbal is also a must as once you get used to the first two you'll find it weird not having all three.

However, support from Harmonix and Rock Band is appalling.

Firstly, this is the "Official premium kit", it's the "Officially licensed premium kit".

Secondly, whilst the kit itself is velocity sensitive none of the Rock Band games support the feature. It was removed from Rock Band 2 around Christmas 2008 and has yet to be reinstated (as of June '09).

The kit is awesome and very customisable. I used to miss beats on rock band 1 drum or sometime get cross beats as they are so close together, but not anymore with the ION kit. The pads on these are firm but give you a great bounce hence making it easier for drum rolls, plus I haven't missed any or many beats on the pads now :-)

The cymbals are must have addition too. Albiet they are a bit noisy, and initially you may get double hits or no hits sometimes. But all these problems can be eliminated by proper setup of the cymbals. Check out the rockband forums for a thread called "Cymbal help" - something like that.

Lastly, the pedal is really really good. Take much less force to hit the pedal, but it is still weighty and has a good natural bounce to it so you can get the double bass much easier than in rock band 1 pedal. You can also get some Destroyer pedals to replace the one that comes in the box which is sweet.

I think this kit is amazing, so much stronger and durable then the normal, standard kit that comes with rock band, or GH.
I would like to know if anyone knows, if its compatible with Metallica.

This kit is the perfect kit for all players, totally adjustable to fit it around your body for perfect playing.
The pad rebound is amazingly realistic and the only minor problem i have found with it is the fact that the pedal is not that good.

The drums are compatible with all games from guitar hero and rock band, although the drum chart has one less drum, like that of which happens with a standard rock band kit when you play guitar hero. Therefore, it is compatible, but not as a GH kit with 5 pads + pedal.
