5 The best just got better!BenJammer | 13/01/2009 | See all BenJammer's reviews (4)The demo was a little restricting until I found the fence glitch which opened up a huge street area to explore, and it's fantastic! The improvements are obviously great, but a little clunky. Getting off your board was an essential addition, but can be slow and frustrating. I was also a bit disappointed that some of the little annoying things from Skate 1 have not been sorted out.For exampe, you still get that 'straight leg' animation when you ollie over something big. Wallrides still look stupid. Switch still doesn't look switch (unless you 180 first). But saying that, just having a whole new city to skate is what's making this an essential purchase for me. Being able to move stuff around means endless opportunities, and this guarantees longer shelflife than Skate 1 (even though after hundreds of hours, I still find new ways to approach stuff in that!)The new tricks are a bit pointless, and I don't see myself using any of them much. I'm not really a boneless/handplant/hippie jump kind of skateboarder! The improved character customisation adds variety, but again, doesn't really bother me. It's funny seeing half my wardrobe in digital though I guess! All in all, I can't see myself playing anything else for a long old time!
