Truth is Written in Blood...

"I will seek vengeance upon those who have betrayed my family, and uncover a conspiracy bigger than I could have imagined. I am Ezio Auditore da Firenze. I am an Assassin."

The highly anticipated follow-up to Assassin's Creed features a new hero, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, a young Italian noble, and a new era, the Renaissance. Assassin's Creed II retains the core gameplay experience that made the first opus a resounding success and features new experiences that will surprise and challenge players. Assassin's Creed II is an epic story of family, vengeance and conspiracy set in the pristine, yet brutal, backdrop of a Renaissance Italy. Ezio befriends Leonardo da Vinci, takes on Florence's most powerful families and ventures throughout the canals of Venice where he learns to become a master assassin.
  • Explore the beginning of modern history in an epic story of power, revenge, and conspiracy
  • Master the art of the assassin with over 20 new weapons and inventions created by Leonardo da Vinci
  • Experience open world gameplay with over 16 types of mission

Well well well what can I say? I wasnt really intending to buy this but as I found 40 quid in my wallet and saw this I thought "why not?". So I bought it, and its a nice change from Call of Duty (though thats also an awsome game as well).

First off, the graphics are alot better to look at. Everythings a bit sharper, bit more detailed and so on. But the story and the gameplay are whats made this little baby shine. The story is absoloutly gripping. I cannot stop playing just to see what happens next. The plot is based along the same storyline as its prequel, assinate your targets and defeat the Templars. Thats the base not the depth. The depth of the story however, is very gripping and addictive. The story is set in Italy in the late 15th centry where, unlike the last one, you have a bit of a personal back ground. And by this I mean you have a family. You also meet a close family friend, good old Leanardo Da Vinci. Not getting too detailed about the plot, I'll leave it there as I don't want to spoil it for anyone. :)

Next is the gameplay. It has improved drastically. Everything still there you got your sword, dagger, hidden blade all that. But you also have the ability to throw money! Rather than fight your way trough the guards, you can throw money which will distract nearly everyone who sees the rain of coins hit the floor. Not only that but now, you can buy weapons, armour, clothing the whole lot. Its much more customizable now.

Which remnds me. In this one, the guards will attack you if you linger around them for too long. To counter this, you can now blend in with crowds. Okay it was there before, but you can blend in with any old crowd now and instead of having to hold down to blend, you have free movement. So you can move in or out of the crowd freely, and aviod detection by the guards. The missions have also improved. Their no longer repetative as in the last one, each mission requires you to think your way around a problem in multiple ways, in some missions you can choose how you complete the mission.

Not gotton far ahead in the game but there are major improvements that I am happy with. Unlike the last one, I think Ill play this one constantly, because it has a very in-depth addicting storyline, the gameplay has improved and I can also use a sword instead of a modern day rifle to kill enemies with.

Overall 8/10. I'd reccomend this to anyone who enjoys stealth games.

OMG The Wait is Over....... and it was worth the wait

Where do I begin..............I haven''t played much but the story line is so much richer then the first, and the world is so much bigger. There is loads to keep u in grossed in the game wither it's deliving mail for some poor love struck fool, or beating someone's cheating husbond up... to doing the main story line quest.. and also the fact u have to upkeep ur armour means to have to be weary of the fights u partake in. The best things i came across so far is the face that u can kill to lower ur notirous rating, and that u can hire ppl to cause trouble or throw money in the street to get ppl to run about excited!!!! Oh and leanordo di vinci, is a real treat in the game is is sure to make u laugh and a bit annoyed .

 Best thing since sliced bread!!

This game has to be the best sequel ever made.
the first game, although it was amazing, got very boring. it was all a case of into the animus, kill a guy, out the animus, go to bed,
this game is completly different. Desmond can run!
the graphics are superb, they really bring Italy to life during the game, and there is no more having to worry about the guards all the time as they dont suspect you until you actually do something,
The gameplay is a lot more flowing and the addition of better hand to hand combat is amazing.
the fact that you can now climb buildings a lot faster than before is also a much appreciated addition.
The story arc is also phenomenal, it really makes you feel for Ezio as you take him through his life
all in all I will say this game is a must buy for anyone who enjoyed the first game. also give a try if you didnt as the many new additions make an amazing, fun and less repetitive game

 Much better than the first.

Assassin's Creed 2 totally blows the first one out of the water. Everything has been improved. The gameplay, graphics, audio, soundtrack, characters and locations are 10 times better than the first. Instead of Altair, it's Ezio Auditore da Firenze who must seek vengeance against the people who murdered his Father and Brother. Along the way, he learns new tricks, meets new faces and tests new inventions for Leonardo Da Vinci. The story is very strong and the game itself is highly addictive. The achievements are fun and easy. I enjoyed the first game but it seems god awful now compared to the sequel. Buy this game now if you like Stealth/Action/Platforming.
