I've played Lost Planet many times before, and it provides a great online experience. Unfortunately, it's lacking in players for two reasons. The game didn't sell too well, and also, Capcom re-released Lost Planet last year in the form of Lost Planet Colonies: the same game but with new multiplayer content, the biggest flaw being that original and Colonies players can't play together.
I'd keep away from this version and go get Colonies. If you're still unsure about this game, there is a demo available on the Xbox Live Marketplace, and there's even a multiplayer demo on the PlayStation Network, which gives an excellent preview of the online part. Make sure you get the game cheap though, because Lost Planet 2 is coming out this year!
Well, so much for global warming! In Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, the main character, Wayne, wakes up from his unconscious state to discover he's a survivor of a battle, the details of which he can't remember. (Like all good plots, our hero is suffering from amnesia). With a few sidekicks in tow, Wayne sets out and quickly discovers himself in a hostile, icy environment, overridden with winged alien hordes known as the Akrid. The plot soon accelerates and you'll be left breathless as the game twists and toys with your senses.
Beautiful light and shading show off the XBOX 360 to the best of its ability here in a wonderfully cinematic game, with truly awesome scenery and cityscapes. The single player game will keep you busy for hours, and the multiplayer game will keep you going for years. In my opinion, it's the best game brought to the XBOX 360 to date.
This is by far one of the best games I've played on the 360. Great graphics and reasonable story. Very challenging in places for those who get further into the game and dont play on the easy skill levels. Multiplayer is not too good but you cant have everything.
If you're a shoot-em-up fan you CANNOT miss with this game. Graphics are great, set up (where you have to stay alive against the cold aswell as overwhelming enemies) keeps the game flowing at top speed, the monsters/robots etc are huge and intense and the weapons are pretty good too. One of the best shoot-em-ups on the 360. Pure Intensity!
The previous reviews seem somewhat harsh. This is not a game for the easily discouraged, as save points dont really exist and you can become frustrated at times when you die. However once you've mastered the controlls, the game is rewarding, becuase of its difficulty. The graphics do look great, and theres nothing wrong with shooting everything you see. Yes the story line is poor, but so what. Gears of war has lame strory line, but it's quality. Buy this if you want a challenge of your gaming skills, and dont mind dieing now and then
