The Essential Street Fighting Experience

I recently bought this Tournament Edition fightstick judging from Reviews from many people. So i threw in the extra cash to Upgrade from getting the Standard Edition Stick to the Tournament Edition, and i must say it is Money well spent...
For me that is, someone who plays Street Fighter IV more than anything else at home. I shall describe the Stick first. Yes, Perhaps it is most expensive one to buy, but remember, you get what you pay for. The Stick comes with Sanwa parts, a very proffesional company who make sturdy buttons and Ball top sticks. whilst the Standard edition does not have Sanwa parts (that is bad) resulting in the SE (Standard edition) to break very quickly.
the TE (Tournament Edition) is a very High quality product and I highly recommend above any other Arcade Stick out there.
But I shall say this, the Stick and Buttons...if you have NEVER played in arcades before (Like myself) you will find it Awkward and somewhat clunky to play with at first, using… more »

But I shall say this, the Stick and Buttons...if you have NEVER played in arcades before (Like myself) you will find it Awkward and somewhat clunky to play with at first, using this Item for Professional Combos in Street Fighter will take Time and Dedication to pull such things off. Only buy this if your a dedicated Street Fighter (The Stick can be used for other Games aswell) as if you don't really put your time into playing the game it would be a waste of Money. And yes, you will be unbelievably rubbish at the game for a while, but you pick up on the buttons quickly.
There is a Turbo feature on the stick allowing for quick reactions without you having to tap the buttons very quickly, although, this is considered Cheating Online, so i only recommend using it for those Tricky Hard Trial Combo's (and even then they are still hard to pull off)
So if you are a person whop plays Street Fighter 4 or any other Fighting game more than anything else, This is a must buy for you, the Price Tag may be steep but you shall not regret it. but for those who balance to play there games and only play fightings if they feel like, don't spend this amount of money on something you will not take your time to master.

First things first, if you are undecided on wether to get the cheaper £70 fight stick or this one, the thing to remember is that you will get what you pay for. This Tournament edition fight stick has Sanwa parts inside, Sanwa is a grade A manufacter on some of the finest aracde machines in the world and better yet this unit is an exact replica of the Street Fighter 4 acrade machine.Capcom worked with Sanwa to make sure you get a replica button layout too, along with a smooth and quality built joystick with great movement. There is also a headphone slot in the front and at the rear you have a hidden compartment to hold the wires that connect to your Xbox. It's a fairly heavy item so it has a good feel and if need be will fit nicely on your lap. Underneath you have rubber legs which hold it sturdy when in battle and also comes with bolts in which to attach it to a table if you want it to be fixed to a solid object. Finally, the main point here is that i was playing street fighter with a limited edition lime green xbox controller (better d pad) and i thought it felt good with no real hitches. As soon as i had my first fight with this unit i realised just how much i was missing out on and it just felt right and it's how this game is meant to be played. Get yourself one now where ever you can, it will hold it's value and if you do ever decide to sell it (which you wont) it will be worth much much more in years to come. An absolute essential but also a sweet collectable. HADDDUKEN!

Lol @ Xbox 360 Controller D-pad!
Pogonowski | 29/06/2009 | See all Pogonowski's reviews (10) »
I got Street Fighter 4 at release for Xbox 360, I found it a great revival of the classic franchise, it felt familiar but really current too. After a week or so of playing it I though I strayed away from it because the D-pad on the Xbox 360 controller just did my nut in, it is just too imprecise for a game like Street Fighter where complex button input is the order of the day. Finally, I got one of these rare babies, I actually payed £99.99 for mine which was a bonus, and hands-down I can definetely say it improves the whole Street Fighter experience. I can now pull off all the moves with ease; quarter circle, half circle, left-right charge attacks, down-up charge attacks, you name it, it's all a breeze with this quality Arcade controller, I'd never been able to pull off Blanka's Super Combo before I used this! Everything feels solid, the layout is great, and it's surprisingly comfortable to use. The turbo function is easy to use, and it has differing levels of speed. I've also tried… more »

Everything feels solid, the layout is great, and it's surprisingly comfortable to use. The turbo function is easy to use, and it has differing levels of speed. I've also tried it with Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix and it works just as well, Super Combo-ing the Xbox 360 Controller's D-pad back to Street Fighter 1! Take-that Microsoft! It should also go well with Tekken 6 in the future. I must mention I've not tried any other Fightstick, but obviously this is the higher profile product and I wouldn't like to waste my money on an inferior item. £149.99 RRP is quite a steep amount of money, but if you are serious about Street Fighter then I fully recommend this controller, if you aren't fully comitted though £149.99 is probably too much. 4 stars only because £149.99 is a big sacrifice (but at the price I got mine for I'd give it a 5/5).
