In Terminator: Salvation, based on the "Terminator: Salvation" film from Warner Bros. Pictures and Sony Pictures, players assume the role of John Connor, a soldier in the resistance, battling for survival against the far superior forces of Skynet.

Terminator: Salvation is an intense action-packed third-person shooter featuring concentrated armed combat against all of the Skynet enemies from the film and new killer machines specifically designed for the game. Taking place two years before the events of the film set in a post apocalyptic, decimated Los Angeles, players will be lead through a visceral, story and character driven gaming experience.

Featuring intense third-person action, Terminator: Salvation will take combat to the next level with iconic enemies, cinematic fight sequences and advanced weaponry, drawn directly from the film, as well as an innovative, multi-layered cover mechanic.

New Installment of Terminator Mythology: Set two years prior to the "Terminator: Salvation" film, players will get the opportunity to be John Connor for the first time and continue the epic fiction of the Terminator mythology.

Unrelenting Intelligent Robotic Enemies: Unrelenting and incredibly resilient iconic enemies from the Terminator franchise fight to the bitter end on land and in the sky. Designed to pursue the player by any means necessary, damaged or broken enemies will literally claw their way forward to inflict harm.

Advanced Destructible Cover Gameplay: Terminator: Salvation will incorporate advanced cover mechanics which allows players to use the destructible environment as protection and strategically navigate through enemy entrenched territory. The cover mechanic's multi-faceted design changes the way "cover" gameplay is executed.

Diverse Array of Advanced Weaponry: The player has access to a wide array of weapons including shotguns, fully automatic machine guns, huge mounted weaponry, grenades, rocket-launchers and even a plasma firing Skynet tank.

Rugged Armored Vehicles Gun Fights: Pursue, attack, or evade enemies through post-apocalyptic environments on foot or inside rugged armored vehicles in extremely kinetic and extensive cinematic gun battles.

         Too short, too easy

        | | See all V1xScopedxKilla's reviews (4)

I'll keep this brief, a little bit like the game!! It's not the worst game ever, but it is far too short, and far too easy. My advice is do what i did, put it straight on hard mode, then simply complete the game in 5hrs for a 1000g's! Enough said.

         Oh dear...

        Top 100 Games Reviewer

Forget what you have seen in the terminator movies, this game throws all that out the window with a story that has no place in the series and gameplay that will make you cringe. The main objective of the game seems to be just to get behind some generic enemies. (of which there are only four types). Good for achievements but little else; bad graphics, bad gameplay, awful character design and no challenge. The list goes on but it all adds up= One bad game.

         Easy Achievement Points

If you're looking for easy achievement points then this is for you. The game is pretty bad but I finished it on hard in 4 hours and got all 1000 achievement points for doing so. The achievements stack, i.e if you finish the game on hard you get the achievement for finishing on medium as well and all the achievements are related to finishing levels. There's no collecting, no challenges no unlocking extra rubbish just play through and you'll get everything.

         Its an OK game

I must admit i don't agree with the 1 star reviews, i think this is a borderline mediocre/good game. However, there are some blatant faults.

The story is way too short, i got the 1000g in about 6-7 hours ( im not as good as everyone else!). Also, there is no online so there is no replayability and the likelihood is once you get the 1000g it won't enter your xbox again.

However, the machines are good and can make the odd part tricky and graphically it is quite good. But all in all, i am glad i only rented this because i got it on the friday and by the end of saturday i was done with it. So this game is a case of either renting, or waiting for the price to drop.

         Not bad at all!

Something compelled me to buy this game despite the really dreadful reviews from all over the world. Was I disappointed? No - not in the slightest. This game is an action game pure and simple, basically moving from one small area to another fighting waves of enemies.

The fluid and dynamic cover system is a key feature that works well and makes the game fun.

There's nothing ingenious about the game design (except the cool cover system) but take it for what it is and you will enjoy it.

Yes, you do fight the same wave of enemies over and over but I don't have a problem with that personally. The graphics are mostly good, even fantastic in some places, but could've benefited from more polish in some areas.

Although the game is supposed to be short, I still haven't completed it since I started on Friday. Mind you, I haven't tried to beat it in a single sitting, started on Hard difficulty and I have been re-playing some of the levels. I admit, some extra levels would have been welcome. Also, some of the levels would have been really great if the developers used their imagination. There are a few cool moments but mostly the game is straight forward.

Multi-player would have been a fantastic opportunity - they missed the mark badly on that. Skynet vs resistance would've been too cool for words. Maybe next time.

Overall, I got this game with the intention of selling it off or trading it soon afterwards, but you know what? I'm seriously thinking of keeping it. It's like an arcade game, good for when you're in the mood for simple shooting action. I may be in the minority here but it is definitely worth picking up.
