Thrusting players into a mature neo-noir crime drama as a vice-cop Jack Slate and his canine companion Shadow, the game introduces new gameplay elements that unify the third-person shooting and brawling genres for a brutal and relentless new action-driven experience.

Returning to Grant City, a boom town gone bust that is falling to the worst excesses of crime, greed and corruption, Dead To Rights: Retribution follows vice-cop Jack Slate as he fights to expose shadowy figures that will stop at nothing to exert their deadly influence over the crumbling metropolis. Dead To Rights: Retribution will form an original story portraying key events that shape and define Jack Slate's character including how he and Shadow first come together as partners against those who would bring the once great city to its knees.

Introducing an innovative new hybrid combat system, Dead To Rights: Retribution puts the full combat potential of a highly trained, highly agitated law-enforcement officer into players' hands. Use your sidearm to pick off enemies from a distance, take cover and blind-fire with the game's new ranged combat mechanics, or push the issue by taking human shields, stealing weapons with special disarm moves or dishing out Jack's own brutal brand of justice with deadly takedown moves. Jack is equally lethal in close-quarters combat, offering players branching melee combos, counter-attacks and disarms as they take the fight to the criminal element of Grant City. Jack will encounter a variety of ruthless gangs in the filthy slums and menacing alleys of Grant City, each with their own unique abilities and fighting style that will test his resolve to crush their murderous stranglehold.

I always remember the 1st Dead To Rights at them years ago on the PS2 and never like it so when i heard about this one coming out i did worry abit if it was going be any good, guess what it was and getting it from Play.Com for only cheap was great.

One of the mean things that i liked about this game was the story which i felt i was good and well told. The action well there's alot of it keep you busy. You have Focus Mode which is good if theres more bad guys than you, you put it in Focus Mode just slows it down for you to give you better chance to aim you gun. Theres only few combos in the hand to hand combat but the counter moves are there and good to use. You can also call your dog Shadow to help you out if you getting your butt handed to you. Finishing off moves are cool to watch in slow-mo.

Not every stage is the same with the action at times you will be Shadow to sneak around to get stuff for Jake so you can carry on to get to the next part. Shadow has his own ways of killing and will also wee on a bad guy who been knocked out. I got cheap laugh out of it.

The game i felt was abit short but I did enjoy every part of it and there are enough achievements which are fun and some are easy to get but will keep you busy for that little longer.

Got this when it went on sale for 17.99 and I can honestly say that I was very impressed with what I payed for! The characters are memorable and you actually care if something happens to them. The levels are usually about 30-40 minutes long and they are superbly ranged from running into a hotel, all guns blazing to sneaking around a warehouse with Shadow silently taking out the enemy. The gun are decent although the ammo seems to run out very quick! The takedowns are cool too and the game is very, very violent. The achievements are overall quite easy although the game can get quite difficult at times. It took me about 8 hours to finish the main story on OFFICER (medium). The DLC is well worth the money too, with a whole new mission and a horde mode type thing or only 400 microsoft points. I highly recommend you get this game as it's fun and highly enjoyable although it does quite frustrating at times.

I loved the way you play as the dog shadow , ihave never seen anything like that in a game before. Short story but still very Engaging for the time it lasts , good combat system too. Roll on the sequel!!

A great game for the collection

The gameplay isnt too bad the graphics could be a little better but thats the only bad point about the whole game.
Hand to hand combat is fine the weapons are ok but run out of ammo to easyly and the weapons look blocky.
The game has a great story about a detective and his father who is murdered on the job and goes after his revenage but it al leads up to be one big conspiracy
A GREAT GAME
WELL WORTH THE MONEY
