Good game but room for improvement

| | See all RunnerBean99's reviews (1)

A really good game that is realistic in most parts of gameplay. My issue is with the Superstar mode which should really be the best part of the game. Instead, it has been stripped down. It is still enjoyable because you have to play a whole season to see how your stats improve. What's unrealistic though is the fact that despite being such a low rating you are a starter every game - this is dealt with though by not many plays coming your way.

Overall though, I would say it is a great game!

  Very good game

I bought this game when it first came out and i still play it regularly, all the game modes are good to play on and all the teams have there strong points.

The only reason that this game is getting so many bad reviews is because the people who dont like it are generally terrible at the game. Very good game and I would recommend to any sport fan.

  20 Years... Poor Game.

I Recently purchased Madden 2010 and was very disappointed.
The game is hard to play, making catches and somethimes running (alot like the real game). I am a fan of NFL anyway and a St. Louis Rams fan and I know they arent the best team, but I can't even complete more than 4 passes in a game with them due to there stats. So why would I want to play and win with any other team who has better stats???

If your a G fan like me also, you will struggle hugely to get an decent score as you have to play the game on All-Pro and do quite rare things to get them.

Allthough graphics are good and small game day things are good to see, this doesnt make up for the let down of the game.

  US Game for US Fans

| | See all ExXboxer's reviews (14)

This game would have been 5 stars if the rating was based on gameplay alone - it is by far the best gameplay of any Madden title on the 360 and allows unprecedented control over defensive matchups and substitution strategy - the greater disparity between first and second string players means that there is often a real temptation to put injured stars back into the game.

However, the EA machine rolls on and rather than put game logic and animations right first time, these will no doubt be addressed over the next two or three titles. So as well as poor commentary, we get crowds watching the wrong way, measurements when the runner was three yards past the marker (and annoyingly, possession retained even when the referees announce the player is short) and the usual graphical glitches or players running through each other or trying to make plays three yards out of bounds. One star lost.

The other crime commited here is that the online franchise so much promoted as the next big thing in online Madden, only appears to be available to UK gamers if they are prepared to pay (the US gamers get a free access code) along with all the other cheat codes that players can obtain with MS points. This is a trend that EA are pursuing aggressively this year (Tiger Woods for example only ships with four courses - the rest have to be purchased) and is bordering on exploitation. Another star lost.

Shame on EA for turning a classic into something that leaves a sour taste in the mouth.

MADDEN 10 has finally reached stardom!!

| | See all DarkBubulz's reviews (1)

First of all, thank you EA!!

I never thought I would ever say this but this year Madden developpers have finally understood the true essence of NFL Football.
The moment every NFL 2K5 fan has been praying for these past years has finally arrived... This is the best Madden EVER!! They've slowed the pace of the game (which makes the game even more realistic), given us a gameplay camera view of our choice (standard, zoomed or far), incredible HD graphics, adaptive ingame A.I, Co-op play, and the list goes on... But; the most important is GAMEPLAY.
Last year's game was cool but, for a NFL 2K fan something was still missing and that was realistic responsive gameplay. EA and the MADDEN NFL Franchise, have after all these years of wait, finally delivered.
After playing more than 30 games, I still keep on seeing new animations and finding myself not skiping video commentaries...

Ok, that been said, there still are some twerks, commentary sucks but not enough to brag about. Gameplay's excellent, what more can we ask for?

All you NFL 2K fans take a shot at MADDEN 10... IT'S GAME TIME!!!

  Best Madden So Far But...

| | See all ffcsupporter's reviews (8)

i would have to agree that it is the best madden with new features, better graphics, better gamplay and its easy to pick up style. i like the become a superstar but unlike fifa i haven't come across a point improvement system which has annoyed me a bit. also the franchise modes are good and the fact where you can just manage the franchise and not play. it is a great buy but just that one thing that is bugging me.

  Best Madden yet

| | See all maiden's reviews (4)

As said above this is the best madden to date. The new presentation style is excellent and gives you the feeling of a real nfl game. The small things like towels and hand warmers add to the presentation. The gameplay has improved this year with real pockets around your QB and the slower game speed helps you make better decisions. New animations sees WRs doing over the shoulder catchers and leaping catchers. Also the game is the best looking madden, espically in HD. Franchise mode is great as always with the extra points show being a nice touch. The only real downside is that the superstar mode that seems to have been stripped back this year. However overall this is the best madden yet and a good improvement on 09 (plus if you don't like the slower speed then just turn it up in the options).

Easily the best madden game yet

| | See all Davo88's reviews (10)

I really like the improvements EA have made to madden 10, first off the gameplay is more realistic as it has been slowed down to a normal game pace.
The character movements are probably what im most happy with, e.g when receivers are running routes, they break down and explode out of their cuts when changing direction (just like they do in the NFL) I know its a small detail, but all other maddens have been missing this.
Playing as a runningback, it is easier to find the hole in the O line and exploit it for a big gain. QB's are also a lot smarter, they don't throw into triple coverage anymore, and their dropbacks are suited to how they do it in the NFL.
As far as tackling goes, just play as a defender on superstar mode and you'll be amazed with the sort of hits you can put on offensive players.
5 Stars!!!
