  Best Guitar hero to date

| | See all Daviduk2000's reviews (40)

From the start you have everything. ultimately there is 85 songs from 83 different artists.
you can play these when and how you want. up to four players and all four of them can choose whaever instrument they want,, 4 drummers? go ahead.
the career consists of every song once, plus around 10 encores where you choose what song. so i dont understans the guy who said career is too short is around twice as long as GH3 and just a bit longer than world tour.

the setlist was brilliant and very modern music with huge variety plus loads of first time artists. one problem i had with the game though is in general it was very easy for me in expert guitar, drums however proove a lot more challenging.

the online lets you play with up to 8 players. again any instrument, in around 10 different game modes, which bring a whole new life to the game. this game is easily the most accesable game to date and easy fro player to grasp and enjoy. plus you can exprt around half of the world tour and smahs hits songs into the game for a small fee. brings a huge setlisst into play.

I had such high hopes for this game, ive had it 2 weeks and not completed it yet, i get bored after about 10 minutes playing, track list is poor with about 10-15 recognisable songs, i'll stick to world tour or rock band........rubbish!!!

  The best in the series

This is by far the best Guitar hero in the series. My reason for this bold statement is as follows.... Improved aesthetics(standard stuff). The song list at first glance is a bit confusing as some choices don't seem so obvious. This is where you have to decide what is a 'good' song. Is a good song something catchy like "sex on fire" which is instrumentally poor thus reflecting how it plays on the game, compared to something like "scatterbrain" by Jeff Beck which is not that catchy but due to its technical instrumentals makes it A LOT more fun than something from the Kings of Leon. So basically, they have thought a lot more about what would PLAY well. There are easy songs for people getting in to the series, but there are some of the hardest songs in the series on disc as well. I play the drums and found that there were a lot more technical songs which world tour lacked aside from maybe 3 or 4 exceptions. Another thing for the drummers is the double bass expert+ difficulty. If you're into Guitar hero or Rockband Drums, you will appreciate this greatly. Also...no more fighting over who gets stuck with bass(no offense to bass players, but most people want to play guitar when playing the game). You can have any combo of instruments e.g 4 drums/ 4 guitars/2drums2bass etc etc. The game generally has lots of nice little features which i couldn't really do justice in writing, but the main improvements are.. looks better, plays better, can be made easy for newbies, can be made challenging for veterans. Comparing it to the Beatles Rockband is a bit silly because it's a game based on one band. If you like the Beatles...chances are you will like the game, but don't expect any challenging songs. ( I own both games just for the record so i am not just making assumptions).

  Much Harder

This isn't the greatest GH to date (World Tour is head-and-shoulders above the rest). This is definately one of the harder games of the series, but take that as a good thing. Graphics, camera angles & player movement has all been improved. I would suggest looking at the setlist before buying it though, as GH5 does not have the variety that GH:WT does. A solid 4 stars either way :)

Purchased this yesterday along with Dirt 2, The 2 best games i have purchased in a long long time. Great track list just makes it a must buy, if you want to become the ultimate guitar hero, Has to be added to your collection. Can just keep playing for hours on end, The fun never stops. A changed career mode from that of world tour was also great.

  bad songs

just got this and i have to say world tour setlist is better than this there are some good songs but the good songs have already been on rock band... the graphics and gameplay are good but as allways guitar hero is going down hill. if you want a good music game buy the beatles rock band because that is a brillant game
