  Disapointed

I got this game yesterday and played through to the 1st proper mission and so far I am very underwhelmed and a bit disappointed.
Augments
I loved Deus Ex Invisible War (old Xbox and PC title) and thought the way they did they augments was very cool they used nanites with bio engineered augments so they altered the appearance of the character outwardly but they still looked sort of human this also gives off a feeling that they are very advanced. Another cool thing was that from the 1st augment your character got they were really cool and useful in the environment.
In Revolutions hes basically just a Cyborg and weirdly there seems to be a passion with other characters for people cutting their arms off and replacing them with robot ones.
He starts out totally rubbish and his augments are practically useless.
His arm texture is from the Crysis Nanosuit and his back looks totally stupid like some kind of massive ring when hes not wearing his coat.
I actually felt sorry for the character you play in this game he starts out so rubbish theres nothing appealing about him.
The augment upgrade implementation method is lazy with it being an XP generated system which does not lend itself in my opinion to a story driven game and again I feel this was done better in the previous game.
So far the story is slow to take off and not as engaging as in Invisible War.
The combat isnt actually that bad with the option to play with stealth (Splinter Cell like) or third person shooter.
From my impressions of this game so far I would say that you start of rubbish and get good eventually for a final boss show down.
Im sure if I persevere there allot more to this game but it left me very nostalgic for Invisible War and if my Xbox copy of that played on the 360 Id probably being playing that again instead.

I bought this game when it came out and I am in the middle of playing it again.
This game is truly excellent and is as others have said a mix between Mass Effect and Metal Gears.

  Masterpiece of stealth and combat.

If you're a fan of metal gear and haven't tried this game, this is a definite must! This game is best compared to Mass Effect blended with Metal Gear, in a completely unique way. Perfect game, though if you're a fan of a run and shoot type of game. This may not be what you're expecting. Brilliant game.

  Awful game

Got this for 18 pound couldnt believe how cheap it had gone so quickly as really wanted this game. The last two games i bought were dead island and rage so the graphics on this are like a ps2 game really flat and clunky just like the controls. Cannot see why this game has got good reviews maybe if it was made 10 years ago just waiting for skyrim now.

  Fantastic!

Utterly brilliant, seamless blend of action, stealth and roleplaying elements and a smart, dark storyline to boot. Only nag is the boss battles, which are still fun but more linear than previous Deus Ex games. I most certainly asked for this! :)

  Best xbox360 game in ages.

Deus Ex human revolution is a mix between a FPS an RPG and a stealth game which feels more like playing Splinter Cell and Mass Effect than a FPS like Halo. It's an excellent game that gives you options in how to go about missions and how you develop your character. The boss battles which have been critisized in reviews are not very good but don't spoil the game. It feels a bit old with characters who stand around repeating lines of dialogue and long loading times, which are probably due to the age of the XBox 360. Overall a very good game.

  Im Not Sure

after seeing the trailer It looks fantastic, BUT I found it a bit of a drag, I was told its like metal gear! I totally disagree, it looks great but maybe I need to give it more time

  A must

I've only starting playing the game but I'm already hooked. The graphics are great and equaly is the story.

It's nice to have a game like Mass Effect that concentrates on the Single playet rather than the multiplayer.

This game is a must have in your game collection.

  Simply Outstanding!

An all round enjoyable experience. Fantastic gameplay, Great music and a well thought out story that will keep you hooked for hours at a time. The most fun i've had this year with a game. A must buy!!

Unfortunately I didnt play the original (not sure how important that is to this story), but coming at this as being brand new game, I've gotta say it's amazing.

The good bits: The gameplay involves the perfect mix of gunfire and sneeking, as well as RPG elements like Weapon/character mods and talking to characters to develop the plot. The story is, for once, interesting and well thought out. Personally I can't see what all the fuss is about with people hating the hacking! Yes it does take a bit of brain power and it does help if luck is on your side but its good to have a bit of challenge. If you really can't do it then you just need to spend some points on upgrading your hacking abilities - thus making it easier.

The not so good bits: Voice acting isn't great. Adam's voice is ok, but some (not all) of the other characters are pretty poor. The animation when talking to people is pretty below par for today's standards - especially if compared to Mass Effect for instance. Your battery power doesn't replenish itself (the most annoying thing in the game) and sometimes when you look round a corner to shoot someone your taget reticule doesnt end up exactly where you thought it would (Unlike much earlier games like Rainbow Six). But that really is about it!!

What this game lacks in brilliant graphics, and even with the 2 things that wind me up with it - It more than easily makes up for them by creating an interesting and intriguing story, the perfect mix of RPG and action elements, some brilliant Bladerunner-esque environments & lighting and it's overal class.

If Skyrim wasnt out in a couple of months - I would be saying game of the year! A must have all the same!!
