  1.  Too manic

Not recommended. Her voice is too strident for the material. No one accompanies Ms. lennox, they get shouted over. When a softer approach is taken there are pleasing renditions, but on the whole to manic.

i have never really been a fan and I am not familiar with any album material, only the singles from long ago. I heard this in Lyric Hi-Fi played as a demonstration and subsequently ordered it. i am pleased with the song choice and the renditions, mostly - I am not convinced by the style of the Nirvana cover - but on the whole a recommendation.

  3.  Another hit.

Another great album, more C&W than 'My Life', but still a remarkable voice.

  4.  Excellent album

I heard her originally after an incident in NI when 'our town' - not on this album - got a lot of airplay. She does not look like her voice, which does take a bit of getting used to, but stick with it. The songs are very good and the rendition is fantastic, a stand-out track is 'Easy's getting harder every day'. Highly recommended.

  5.  Strange, but interesting.

A friend played this for me, more as a demonstration of his sound system. I found it strange, but enjoyable. I have no other Pink Floyd or solo material from any members of the band. I am not fully convinced by the 'story' but really enjoy the tracks in themselves, they are individually strong, tuneful, well played and produced.

  6.  Outstanding

A superb album of ballads. The first track is reason for 5* alone never mind any of the rest of the content.

  7.  A grower

A very distinctive, laid-back vocal style and pace makes this album worth sticking with. A few tracks take the music too close to C&W for my particular taste, but an album which will reward patience and a few listens.

  8.  Country, but no western!

I bought this disc on the strength of the airplay that one particular track, 'The road goes on forever' has been getting on the Gerry Anderson show on Radio Ulster. Generally this would not be my type of music, although the track mentioned is fantastic. This album is not the same live recording from which the aforementioned track comes. I found the entire album very good with both great vocals and a high standard of playing throughout. I would class the music as country, but not country and western. A recommendation.
