  1.  MIGHT TRANSFORM YOUR VIEWS

    Really impressive stuff,top quality acting and a great story with some tough subjects,all this handled with respect.
    A man,now a woman,all but his penis,is just about coping with life when there is a phonecall revealing she has a son,fathered when she was a he.
    She seeks him out,bails him out and ends up going on a journey,you could argue,a journey of self-discovery. The teen has clearly got problems and those are soon revealed,then explains why he is so confused.
    The woman i'm willing to consider her to be,is clealry struggling with herself and other matters that also become clear as the film goes on.
    This is a film that looked good when i saw it advertized and did not disppoint upon viewing. You do wonder if the big reveal is coming to the son,or more to the point,when. There are enough comical moments to lighten the mood,all be it done quite dryly,but it all comes down to being a very impressive film with a difference. A woman playing a man trying to be a woman. I can't see many who like the idea of this movie,not enjoying it,it's that good.

  2.  GREAT SUPERNATURAL STORY

    I am a big horror fan and found this very enjoyable. Supposedly based on true events,but make of that what you will.
    It starts off with a woman about to smash a box with a hammer,she's atacked be an unseen force and is thrown around.
    Then the main story kicks in,as two girls spend time with their father (recently seperated from his wife),Emily finds an antique box at a yard sale and soon becomes obsessed with it.
    Her behaviour becomes increasingly odd after she has trouble getting into the box,but finally opens it. In it she finds a dead moth and a ring which she slips on her finger,a ring that is clearly not wise to wear.
    Soon moths becomes very much a part of the story,making their presence known.
    As things get more and more sinister,it soon becmes clear...the box shouldn't have been opened! Too late!

    This didn't disappoint,it may not be fantastic or highly original,but it works fine as a supernatural horror,one i think most horror fans will enjoy.

  3.  LOADS OF LAUGHS

    Myself and two i watched this with loved this alternative take on a classic story. Highly amusing.
    Looking at the cover,i was a little worried this may be too childish for even us big kids,i needn't've worried.
    It does take the main theme of the story and does it well. The blue gnomes and the red gnomes are at war,but of course,one of the reds falls for one of the blues and the story gets going. There are enough laughs leading up to the crux of the story,then they keep coming thick and fast. Amusing characters,great visual gags,brilliant ideas everywhere and it looks colourful and stunning too.
    Ideal for little ones and big kids alike. If you need cheering up,give this a go,i have nothing negative to say about it.

  4.  IF YOU COULD,SHOULD YOU?

    I loved the idea of this,even though politics really isn't my thing. It works fine and makes several very good points about time travel and the rights and wrongs of if you could.
    The story in basic form is about a man who is given the opportunity to stop JFK being shot and therefor change the world as we know it.
    Naturally,as he is single and no kids,he has no reason to turn down such an offer.
    After a few tests via some steps that lead down and into 1958,he realizes how changing small details can change even bigger things elsewhere,butterflies and hurricanes as they say. So off he goes on the real mission,save JFK,but life isn't that simple.
    It's a brilliant idea,with other smaller stories thrown in to make it more interesting.
    The one major flaw i found in this,is King waffles on a bit,as he tends to do sometimes,so that stops me giving it five stars,for me it simply isn't one the best King books i've read,though it is very good and i can see why so many love it. This is proof King still has plenty to offer and it makes a change to the usual horror that i read by King.
    I would say it is well worth buying,but if you hate it when King waffles on,be prepared,it's worth sticking with though.

  5.  IT HAS SOME BITE

    I was dreading this would be a mistake buy,not so,it's great fun. Some people expect too much of this kind of film and being a shark film,it's compared to JAWS,which isn't fair but is bound to happen,it's no JAWS,but it is entertaining.

    What's meant to be a fine time,turns into a nightmare when one the group of friends gets attacked by a shark and loses an arm. Knowing help is needed,they have to find a way to get him across the water which is infested with sharks. The reason it's got so many sharks in it is explained later in a plot i quite liked. So as we see these friends figure out a way to get help,some morons,seen earlier come back into it and make life even harder.

    It's a good fun film,if not taken too seriously,of course it's over the top,a lot of these films wouldn't be entertaining if it wasn't for being over the top. The acting's passable,the CGI and such is fine and the story does it's job. Original? No,but who cares when a film is entertaining?
    So long as you aren't expecting anything special,you might just be pleasantly surprised. The blu-ray extras are fun too,if a little sparse. I try to take films for what they are,so if they make a SHARK NIGHT 2,i'm interested.

     DECENT IDEA POORLY DONE

    A guy obsessed with his hand held camera bugs his two friends by filming all the time,but soon things get weird as strangers faces get distorted and those people soon wind up dead. So the specualtion builds as to what it all means. Plus there's the other plot of the characters dealing with their demons and frustrations which connect the 3.

    It is a great idea,the person whose face is distorted dying soon after,gets the interest,but it soon loses it as the film just kind of plods with dull dialogue and boring characters. It's a shame this wasn't done that well,some loved it sure,but most just felt it lacked the ability to remain interesting,i can see why.

    It should also be pointed out,some might feel too many loose ends ruin the end of the film and the very last shot certainly got me wondering just what they were getting at,so i googled it,found out and didn't care.
    Sorry,but unless you really fancy this one and it's cheap,you might want to give this a miss.

  7.  AMUSING DRAMA

    Okay,so this isn't quite the comedy it appears to be on trailer form and by the cover,but it is amusing in a dry way and caught my interest enough to get to the end of it.
    A divorced guy tried to find a new partner,is a little useless but has a certain charm.
    He meets a woman,they get on great,but she's a bit mysterious,then he meets the son and things get a little weirder.
    The mother and son thing is a little creepy rather than endearing,but it is kind of amusing in it's own way.
    Anyway,the son starts making life difficult for the guy and the plot becomes about weather the son will split the two lovers.

    Some reviewers say this has no comedy,not so,it's just not thick and fast,it is oddly done,it's dry and it is the kind a lot of people just won't find amusing.
    I quite enjoyed it and found myself smiling at the subtle jokes a lot more than i thought i would,certainly after reading so many negative reviews.
    I doubt i'll be watching this again,but i am glad i watched it,it's got something there.

  8.  KILLER FILM WITH A DIFFERNCE

    This was a pleasant surprise,it kind of looks cheap via the cover,but it works very well.
    The story goes that this teenage girl has killed herself (seemingly) and the police are a little concerned that copycat suicides will follow. Sure enough,a group of teens decide together to commit suicide together in a way that will get noticed by many,go out in style as it were.
    These teens all have thier demons,their reasons for ending it all. However,one of them is killed by a masked killer and some of the others from the group start to wonder what's going on,then when they have second thoughts about this mass suicide plan,things get complicated.

    I loved this idea of a killer that is killing those that planned on killing themselves,nice twist on an old formula. The acting is fine and there's some good soundtrack material to help out. Considering this could have looked cheap and nasty,it surprised me by how inventive it was. I have every intention of watching this interesting little killer thriller again one day.

  9.  SNOW WHITE AND THE SPECIAL EFFECTS

    This was better than i was lead to expect. Okay,so it's not a brilliant film,but it does it's job and does it well.
    It keeps to basic story,kind of,then adds a few slants to it,it entertained me and the special effects were stunning,so it would be petty to pick at little things.

    Okay,so young girl loses mother,father is tricked by evil witch,gets married,killed,girl escapes,goes on the run is hunted down by a huntsman that is fooled into thinking this will bring his wife back,then the real action starts... and yes,dwarfs do come into it,though the likes of RAY WINSTONE as a dwarf tickled my funny bone.

    The special effects are very impressive and the acting,for the most part,is great,i have nothing against K Stewart (TWILIGHT aside),so i can't see whay this gets so laid into,it's very entertaining.
    I think anyone that fancies watching this,should watch it,i was not disappointed,but then i did wonder if i'd made a mistake in buying it. I didn't,just enjoy it for what it is.

  10.  LOOKS STUNNING,BUT KIND OF DRAGS.

    This is visually a feast,but it drags after a while and i just got a bit bored with it,though it is watchable.

    The story's a little unusual.
    A young boy who is discovered to be a bender,destined to be a master bender,is trapped under ice for years due to reasons explained in the story.
    This young lad is discovered years later by a brother and sister who unwittinlgy break the ice,she is a bender too,a water bender.
    She isn't a very impressive bender though and keeps getting her brother wet,the males seem to be better benders. This young lad and his story is soon better known,he soon realizes he needs to be a master bender at everything to be the avatar,but so far can only bend air. So to battle the evil fire benders who are causing chaos by making life hell for benders of the earth,or earth benders if you prefer,he has some learning to do,he's just not a good enough bender so far.
    The girl teaches him how to bend water and more so how to hold his wrist at a certain angle to be a more impressive bender (honestly,this really does happen). He also needs to learn from other benders in order to be the best bender of the lot,the avatar. So there you have it,the story in basic without spoiling it too much. It's an interesting tale about being what you are,bender or not,it looks great,which will win over a lot of fans,but for me it just falls flat of being intersting enough to watch again. But i'm sure if left many people wishing they were benders too.
