Season 1 was amazing. It was fresh, funny and had a season-long mystery that kept viewers enthralled. Season 2 was good but seemed to lack that special something that had made the first season so great.
Season 3 brings us back the sparkle of Desperate Housewives, with new writers making the dialogue funnier and the mystery more enthralling. The characters are well played and the episodes are some of the best around on TV. 'Bang' is a tear-jerking, heart-pounding yet also comical episode featuring a supermarket hostage situation and a War of the Roses themed feud between Carlos and Gabrielle.
I only gave four stars as Marcia Cross (Bree) was absent for the final third of the season, though she made an appearence in the finale. This meant that the mystery was quickly tied up, leaving the season in a bit of a dead end with some other storylines being used which were sub-par to the first 15 episodes.
All in all, it's a great season with murder, scandal, blackmail, sex, laughs and tears as the ladies of Wisteria Lane attempt to live their lives and wash away any bad feelings from last season that left some fans sour. A definite for fans of the show, even if Season 2 wasn't your thing, as this season brings back the original Desperate Housewives.
