I stumbled upon this film accidently on BBC iPlayer and I now believe it is one of my favourite films ever.
The whole movie is extremely slow, but this makes it very realistic and draws you into the story. I have seen it three times now, bought it on DVD and intend to watch it again and again and again.
If you're the type of person who appreciates incredible cinematography, you'll also enjoy this film. Set mainly in China, the settings and grading is absolutely wonderful. Even if the story was rubbish - which it most definately isn't - I would enjoy watching the movie for its cinematography.
Anyway, I highly reccommend this film, it is one of my personal favourites that I will continue to watch forever, I'm sure!
