  1.  Great for 3 year olds

For each letter in this book there is an animal name, an animal sound, an instrument name and an instrument sound. There is so much information that my 2 year old daughter (who we bought it for) is not interested in it at all (prefering the simpler Princess and Dora books). However my 3 year old son loves it and keeps borrowing her Tag Junior just to look at this one book.

Therefore I recommend this to be a book you get when they have grown out of some of the simpler ones. As a music teacher, I find some of the instrument sounds a bit dubious but it's great for what it is and the age group it's intended for..

  2.  Just right for a 2 year old

We bought this for our just turned 2 year old at Christmas and she absolutely adores it. Out of the 4 books she has this is by far her favourite. She even takes it to bed with her at night and 'reads' it with her nightlight!

The questions the princesses ask are in the same order every time you play which means that very quickly she learned to get the right answer. I am guessing that the repetitiveness of it which is so ideal now, may in fact be its downfall later on and I certainly don't think there is enough in it to keep her going until she's 4 (hence only 4 stars) but for now it is just perfect.
