Hope & Ruin
The Trews - CD
1 New from
I was looking for a new band to get in to and heard the song Hope and Ruin so thought I'd give it a try. I have not been dissappointed at all with this effort, great hard rock tracks with more than a little dash of humour from these Canadians, here's hoping that they tour round here soon. Give them a go..........

Ok, Sound of Madness was always going to be a difficult album to follow up, and this is a very good effort, but it just misses hitting the target. Great tracks that I can listen to over and over, Bully, Unity, Enemies and My Name...............but I do find myself skipping over a few tracks. Well worth buying, but I'm sure you will go back to SoM in the end.

This is a great album, but I can't help thinking that all the aggression comes out in the first 4 tracks and some of the later tracks are fillers and not as good. I know it's a bonus track, but surely a track called "Private Parts" should be a on a Steel Panther record. Saw them at Download 2012 and was very very impressed, now for a whole album of songs.........

This album came out around the same time as Appetite...., on the Geffen label, produced by Thompson/Barberio, and do you know what? It's a better album! hands down, every track on this cd is superb. even better, it has stood up to the test of time and still gets me now. bought it at the time (on vinyl which is now signed!!) and still listen to it on a regular basis. best tracks are no.1 to 12! go on, try it!
W.A.S.P. - CD
This is a cracking return to form for Blackie. Each song has a classic WASP/Blackie feel and the album sounds like a return of form and to what was promised by WASP in the early 80's. Big power chords with some relevant topics being highlighted, and yes some corny lyrics too!! but if you remember the early WASP albums then this will cheer you up!

This cd is tesla in the now. It's a cracking "blue collar" rock album that will grow on you. I've been a fan from the start and some of their albums take a few spins before those hooks get stuck in, this is no different, if you stick with it you will love it! If you don't have any of their other albums, why not? Can't wait for the tour to come by.
