  1.  A Great Game For The Price

    Posted:

I bought this game a few weeks back. I still havent finished it but am advanced enough to have a good opinion. For the money I think this is one of the best flight simulators around if you want something that features WW2 air craft. The graphics and effects are good, although in my opinion there is too much emphasis on the USAF rather than the RAF.

  2.  Return of The Four Horsemen

I've played this album what must be a dozen times since delivery on Monday! I wasn't too convinced on listening the first time around, however I would now say that this album is certainly up there with their best. The recollaboration with producer Rick Rubin is noteable in steering them back towards familiar territories, as under Bob Rock I'm not sure that they were completely comfortable with the experimental material on thier last album St.Anger. However with 5 years to craft something together this album should in fact be a masterpiece; but alas it isn't, although as I've already mentioned it is one of their best. Looking at each track individually I'd say two tracks are probably worthy of being included within their all time top ten; in particular 'Cyanide' where James Hetfield hisses the words 'suicide' and 'cyanide' as if an aggrivated viper! Play it loud!

     Boring

I bought this album having read one or two good reviews. I also hadn't heard of Biffy until then, but always willing to broaden my musical horizons I took a punt. Reviews I read made statements such as 'atmospheric' and 'life changing' ...with comparisons drawn with Nirvana and the Pixies. Other then the 'quiet verse/loud chorus/quiet verse' arrangement that seems to prevail, I fail to see how they are remotely anywhere near the afore mentioned bands. Lyrically the trio are quite advanced, but unfortunately their sound is very similar to the conveyor belt nu-metal being churned out from the States which does little to stimulate anyone other than goth type teenagers hanging around in shopping malls. Boring.
