  1.  Give it a Whirl

    Posted:

As a blue eyed 13 year old I blown away by Kings of the Wild Frontier.
From a time when creativity was at the fore.
I was sceptical about this re birth of my hero.
Firstly I bought tickets for his recent tour. My wife came along with me with a look of I would rather be shopping. Adam was on stage stage for almost two hours and my wife was jumping around like a teenager..enough said there.
The album is different to say the least. It's not over produced to the point of being totally sterile, a little rough around the edges but I can say hand on heart I love it.
There are influences from the early days which pop up from time to time.
Stand out tracks for me so far are Vince Taylor, Dirty Beast and the fabulous Cradle Your Hatred.
The other 14 tracks are growers.
I heard that some of the major labels were fighting each other to make this album but to his credit Adam has recorded it on his own label in his own way and probably the better for it.
    Ant Music is back....

  2.  A must buy

I bought two pairs of these at less than a fiver a pair.
Overall they are great, however a little flat on some recordings.
They are not as big as they look on the photo which is a good thing.
I'm using mine on my iPod and they look really stylish.
I wouldn't have bought them at their original selling price but at this price they are a real bargain.

  3.  Frank Turns it on

I've just started listening to Frank Turner and so glad I have.
In many cases I like the modern live recording better than the studio sound.
The album has 20 quality tracks and you'll find yourself singing along.
Well worth the price..just buy it

  4.  Takes me back to my youth

    Posted:

As a 40 something bloke this album takes me back to the late 70's and early 80's.
It's well produced with a semi live sound, not like the the over produced stuff you hear nowadays.
The album is quite short but don't let this put you off...just press the repeat button and turn it up.
Thanks to my son for introducing me to some fabulous new artists.

  5.  Just Amazing

I'm listening to this album as I am writing my review.
I was losing interest in music until my son became a teenager.
Now I seem to have a new lease of life musically.
He has introduced me to some fabulous music..however I have introduced him to the amazing Elbow.
I can't put my finger on it yet but they are so addictive.
Now having seen them at this years Leeds Festival..yes that's the sister to Reading that BBC3 forgot about..they totally blew me away.
This album is one to buy before you die..
There isn't one poor track on this album...I don't say that very often.

  6.  Fabulous

This is the best album from Coldplay.
The singles are fantastic but I also love Green Eyes and the title track is even better.
I thought they were awesome at Glastonbury this year as they upped the tempo for the live show and it worked a treat.
